Anticipated Pay Range at Commencement of Employment: $56,000 - $71,000 per year

General Description
The Chapter Web and Engagement Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting our Chapters program by managing website requests, providing technical assistance, and helping utilize our online community platform, Blue Star Neighborhood. This role combines digital marketing and technology support to help Chapters thrive and engage effectively with their audiences. The ideal candidate will have a tech-savvy mindset, strong organizational skills, and a passion for community-building. As the Chapter Web and Engagement Manager, you are passionate about observing user behavior to improve the visible design and experience of an application. You enjoy working in a fast paced, growing organization and are able to adapt quickly to changing directions. You are collaborative and creative with your colleagues yet detailed oriented and able to meet deadlines. You have a sharp and growing understanding of modern tech stacks and are proficient in crafting aesthetically beautiful interfaces. To ensure success as the Chapter Web and Engagement Manager, you need to possess excellent website design skills and meticulous attention to detail. This role requires an individual who is self-driven, ambitious, and tech-savvy. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Digital Marketing & Innovation, and will work cross-functionally across the organization.
Key Job Functions
- Manage and fulfill website requests for the Chapters program, including updates, event pages, and content additions.
- Provide general tech support for Chapters, assisting with troubleshooting and guidance on digital tools.
- Support Chapter teams in using Blue Star Neighborhood to foster online community engagement.
- Create press toolkits, event description pages, and promotional materials to support Chapter events.
- Draft, edit, and post blogs, social media content, and email communications as needed
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to maintain consistent branding across all platforms.
- Stay informed on best practices for community engagement and digital marketing to recommend improvements.
- Maintaining and updating existing websites, templates, and individual pages within WordPress and The Neighborhood
- Maintaining and modifying the pages and communities within the Blue Star Neighborhood member platform
- Creating and utilizing tools that enhance the user's website experience
- Image creation and optimization for online channels
- Incorporate best SEO practices and implement analytics tracking
- Incorporating applications, graphics, audio, and video clips into company websites
- Stay up to date with digital technology trends
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience, Skills, and Background
- B.A./B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years experience in website design, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- A strong background in digital marketing or website management, with some technical knowledge (HTML/CSS familiarity is a plus, but not required).
- WordPress design experience is required
- Experience with Beaver Builder a plus
- Experience with community engagement tools or platforms (e.g., online forums, social media management tools).
- Experience creating marketing materials, such as press kits and email campaigns.
- Basic understanding of website CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
- Familiarity with graphic design or content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent project management and organization skills
- Proactive self-starter who can work collaboratively
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to coordinate and effectively plan and execute several projects at one time with internal and external teams
- Proficient in Google Analytics and SEO
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high productivity environment
- Solid sense of creativity and innovation
- Strong written, verbal communications as well as presentation skills
- Knowledge of the military family experience
- Out-of-town, overnight travel may be required occasionally
- Occasionally may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to carry out key job functions
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Background
- Proven experience developing and executing paid social media campaigns across multiple platforms and tracking analytical performance/ROI
- Experience working within the military/government culture or curiosity/knowledge of these sectors
- Strong existing relationships with key digital influencers and tastemakers
- Experience with Sprout Social, Google Workspace, Hive, or similar platforms
- Art direction experience
- Excellent project management and organization skills
