About the Role
You'll be responsible for underwriting loans following the company’s policies and risk appetite while balancing risk tolerance, growth, and profitability objectives. This position requires expertise, sound judgment, and attention to detail. The candidate will be skilled in analyzing complex information to assess credit risk, structuring appropriate loan terms, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and credit policies to mitigate loss, delinquency, and overall risk.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite small business loan applications following the company’s policy and procedures
- Analyze application data including financial statements, bank statements, tax returns, and business and personal credit reports
- Determine Creditworthiness and structure loans within established guidelines and expectations
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned by the manager
What We Look For
- Small Business Lending experience
- Solid credit fundamentals in a commercial environment
- 2+ years of Underwriting experience
- Commercial Underwriting experience in a FinTech/Bank/Financial Institution
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills
- Formal credit training a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics is a plus
