About the role:

We're seeking a highly motivated Lead Database & Data Expert to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our diverse database infrastructure, primarily on AWS. Responsibilities include collaborating with teams, shaping data architecture using Python and PostgreSQL, Neptune, Redshift, and Redis databases, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, and establishing SLAs for system observability.

What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to developing and executing a data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and compliance in AWS environments
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex data architectures on AWS, leveraging relevant services
  • Ensure databases on AWS meet or exceed SLAs, actively monitoring and managing performance to minimize downtime and optimize queries
  • Oversee ETL processes and data streaming pipelines in AWS, ensuring timely and accurate data transfer
  • Implement and manage observability practices using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, New Relic, to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data architecture performance
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute data and configuration migration initiatives on AWS, ensuring seamless transitions with data integrity and security
  • Support in establishing and enforcing data governance policies, including ownership, access controls, and data lifecycle management practices, especially within AWS

What We Look For:

  • 5 + Years of expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL),  Datawarehouse DBs  and data lakes on AWS Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Data streaming and/or Change Data Capture (CDC) methodologies and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in observability tools such as Airflow,  Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, and New Relic.
  • Experience in scripting and automation using Python.
  • Understanding Graph DBs. 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines, AWS Lambda, and Terraform .
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across global teams.
