About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting loans in accordance with the company’s policy and risk appetite while maintaining focus on risk tolerance, growth, and profitability goals. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, sound judgment and attention to detail with the ability to access complex information to evaluate credit risk, create appropriate loan structures, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, credit policy/ procedures, in an effort to mitigate loss, delinquency and overall risk.
What You'll do
- Underwrite Small business loan applications in accordance to company’s policy and procedures
- Analyze application data including financial statements, bank statements, tax returns and business and personal credit reports
- Evaluate Credit worthiness and structure loans within established guidelines and expectations
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned by manager
- Work directly with the CEO to set the strategic direction and operational priorities of the Company and Executive team
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop, monitor, and report on our quarterly and annual OKRs
- Ensure prioritization and execution across key initiatives for the Office of the CEO
- Lead or partner on special projects driven by the CEO across all operational areas of the business
- Partner with executive leadership to understand impact of strategic initiatives and build them into the near and long term plans
- Manage Executive Team meetings including, but not limited to, setting the agenda, providing insights and analysis to inform strategic conversations and tracking follow through to increase accountability
- Manage Board meeting prep, including talk tracks and presentations, liaise with presenting teams
What We Look For
- Small Business Lending experience required, solid credit fundamentals in a commercial environment. Formal credit training a plus
- 2+ years of Underwriting experience working in a Commercial underwriting role at a FinTech/bank/financial institution
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field preferred
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
New Hire Base Salary Range: $65,800 - $78,900.
