Job Description:
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Contract Specialist to join our team. This position will play a critical role in subcontract management, contract reviews, and ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The ideal candidate will have prior experience working for a federal contractor and possess a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, as well as experience with tools such as DocuSign for contract execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform initial reviews of Teaming Agreements (TAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Subcontracts (SubKs), and Service Agreements (SAs), ensuring they adhere to established templates and internal compliance standards.
• Manage subcontractor relationships, including the administration of subcontracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Review and edit contract terms and conditions to align with FAR requirements and internal policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address and resolve contract-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all agreements and updates, using tools such as DocuSign to manage signature workflows and contract execution.
• Provide guidance on the development and enforcement of contract policies and procedures, including best practices for subcontract management.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of subcontractor compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
• Support the preparation and review of modifications, amendments, and extensions to existing agreements.
• Assist with risk assessment and mitigation strategies for contracts and subcontracts.
• Prepare reports and provide insights on contracting activities and performance metrics to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in federal contracting or subcontract management.
• Demonstrated experience managing contracts and/or subcontracts for a federal contractor.
• Experience interpreting and applying Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Proficiency with contract management tools, including DocuSign.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract terms and conditions and their application in agreements.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in government contracting or related field (e.g., CPCM, CFCM).
• Experience with service agreements and contract modifications in a federal contracting environment.
• Familiarity with the compliance requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
Eligibility:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
The proposed salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000.
