GSGA Internship Activities
The orientation and training will include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following areas of service: assisting the Rules and Competitions department with championships, USGA qualifying, rules of golf, course marking and set-up, entry procedures and communication to players, assisting the Junior Golf department with the administration of events, customer service inquiries, managing tournament entries and training of summer staff members, Member Play Day Program and One Day Series administration, course rating and measuring, communications and marketing, handicapping, foundation activities and general office administration. If available, an intern may attend Boatwright Intern Orientation at USGA Headquarters in Far Hills, NJ, in May. USGA will pay for costs associated with attending the orientation including transportation, hotel and meals.
Requirements:
- Individual should have strong work ethic, be self-motivated and a team player.
• An interest in learning all aspects of golf administration, knowledge of the game of golf preferred.
• Willing to work weekends, early mornings and long days as needed.
• Computer literate using MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle. - Attention to detail; ability to multi-task; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
