NOGA TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATION INTERN (3 MONTHS)
2025 USGA P.J. BOATWRIGHT JR. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
ABOUT THE NORTHERN OHIO GOLF ASSOCIATION: NOGA is a nonprofit organization that serves as the region’s governing body for amateur golf. Founded in 1917, NOGA is dedicated to promoting the game in Northern Ohio to all golfers, serving its growing membership of 154 clubs and more than 39,000 individual members.
LOCATION OF INTERNSHIP: NOGA office located in North Olmsted, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland)
TERM OF INTERNSHIP: Three (3) months (start and end date are flexible)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist NOGA staff with all aspects of tournament operations including: a primary focus on general tournament administration, equipment set-up, golf course set-up and preparation, golf course markings, on course officiating, starting and scoring, real time scoring by data entry, and pace monitoring. Interns will travel extensively throughout the region during the internship, assisting in conducting competitions and administering USGA core functions. Secondary responsibilities will revolve around social media management, as well as member services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Golf background or strong interest in golf
- College Degree (completed or in progress)
- Willingness to work in fast pace and team-oriented structure
- Willingness to live in Greater Cleveland area and travel throughout the region
- Able to work outside in extreme weather and temperatures with direct sun exposure
- Excellent communications and public relations skills
- Experience in photography, social media, and related programs
- A person with a strong work ethic that is self-motivated
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office.

- $2,000 - $2,500 per month (hourly employee), based on 40-hour work week

ABOUT THE P.J. BOATWRIGHT, JR. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: The P. J. Boatwright, Jr. Internship Program was created in 1991 by the USGA to inspire and provide opportunities for qualified individuals interested in a career in golf administration with a particular focus on attracting and developing a diverse pipeline of future leaders, while supporting traditional AGAs that administer USGA core functions.
