Role Title: Head of Product, Innovation Hub
Department: Innovation Hub (Singapore)
Reports To: VP Foreign Exchange
Direct Reports: Product Managers, Product Analysts (as scoped)
Role Purpose
Boku’s Innovation Hub in Singapore is designed to shape the future of cross-border money movement — building faster, smarter, and cheaper alternatives to traditional rails. As part of this bold initiative, the Head of Product will drive the design, development and validation of entirely new product propositions across areas such as AI-powered FX, blockchain-based settlement, stablecoin usage, and next-generation pay-in/pay-out capabilities.
This role is responsible for defining and owning the product innovation lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to MVP delivery and pilot performance. They will partner closely with the Tech and Ops leads to translate ideas into testable, high-impact solutions, and ensure that the hub delivers not just prototypes — but scalable product directions that contribute to Boku’s long-term revenue goals.
This is a rare opportunity to define a new category of infrastructure at the intersection of fintech, Web3 and real-time money movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Vision
- Develop and maintain a dynamic roadmap for innovation products aligned to Boku’s broader strategy and FX monetisation goals.
- Identify use cases across payments, FX, AI/ML, and digital assets that solve merchant and market pain points.
- Validate opportunities with user insight, market sizing, and regulatory feasibility checks.
- MVP Design & Execution
- Define and oversee testable MVPs — ensuring design, metrics and launch timelines are clear from day one.
- Use lean and experimental methodologies to test hypotheses, including PoCs, sandbox testing and simulated pilots.
- Collaborate with Tech to ensure user and market requirements are translated into scalable builds.
- Cross-functional Leadership
- Work with the Innovation Head to define delivery frameworks, stage-gating and governance for experiments.
- Partner with Boku Commercial and Core Product teams to ensure innovation learnings can be transferred or scaled.
- Engage with Legal, Finance, and Risk functions to ensure alignment with compliance, audit and grant commitments.
- User & Ecosystem Engagement
- Engage directly with merchants, partners, and platforms to validate problems and gather feedback.
- Stay ahead of developments in payments, open banking, Web3 and AI to drive informed experimentation.
Measures of Success
- Three MVPs launched in 2026 with defined product-market signals (e.g. FX savings, merchant opt-in, settlement speed).
- 100% of innovation product backlog prioritised, tracked and gated in collaboration with Tech and Ops.
- Product hypotheses validated with user/partner feedback, simulation or sandbox testing.
- Learning transferred to at least two core Boku product or go-to-market initiatives.
- Singapore-based product capability established and scalable to 3–5 product managers by end 2026.
Key Skills, Experience and Competencies
- Product Innovation Leadership: Proven experience in early-stage product creation, preferably in fintech, payments infrastructure, FX, or Web3.
- Lean experimentation: Skilled in MVP definition, rapid iteration, and applying product thinking to unknown/ambiguous problem spaces.
- Cross-border payments or FX: Familiarity with liquidity, routing, reconciliation, and FX use cases in B2B or B2B2C environments.
- Digital Assets & AI: Exposure to stablecoins, open banking APIs, and AI/ML models in financial settings is highly desirable.
- Influence & narrative: Strong communicator with the ability to align technical and commercial stakeholders around complex innovation bets.
- Metrics & outcome-orientation: Relentless focus on defining success, tracking impact, and iterating toward commercial readiness.
Qualifications (Essential / Desirable)
- Degree in Product Design, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Track record of launching innovative B2B/B2B2C financial or payments products.
- Experience operating in highly regulated, multi-market or grant-funded environments is a strong advantage.
- Passion for experimentation, systems thinking, and creating first-of-a-kind capabilities.
