About Bolt & Super App:

About This Role:
As a Staff Backend Engineer on our Consumer Engineering team, you’ll own scalable and resilient back-end components powering the Bolt Super App. You’ll lead the development of wallet infrastructure (on‑ramps, off‑ramps, P2P transfers), manage stablecoins and crypto rails, and enable intelligent, proactive “agentic” shopping workflows.
What You’ll Own:
- Design and implement backend services enabling:
- Universal wallet infrastructure: multi-currency wallets, KYC/AML compliance, secure ledgering, minting/burning stablecoins.
- Crypto on‑ramps/off‑ramps, P2P transfers, blockchain-routed settlement.
- Payment acquisition and routing (cards, crypto rails), reconciliation and settlement.
- Build distributed systems with 99.999% uptime and low latency.
- Collaborate with banks, PSPs, stablecoin issuers, blockchain node providers.
- Lead architectural decisions spanning wallet, commerce, crypto, and agentic‑shopping services.
- Integrate fraud, compliance, risk scoring (for both fiat and crypto).
- Partner with frontend, infra, and data teams to enable richer, more intelligent shopping flows.
- Mentor backend engineers and help define best practices for wallet and crypto services.
Who You Are:
- 8+ years backend experience in Go/Java/Kotlin/Rust (or similar).
- 2+ years in Staff+ roles at a fintech or crypto startup.
- Deep knowledge of payments and wallet infrastructure (card networks, ISO 8583, PCI, tokenization).
- Experience designing ledger systems with consistency, reliability, reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience building crypto or stablecoin rails, blockchain integration is a plus.
- Experience enabling “agentic” shopping—building APIs for assisted/personalized purchase journeys.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, microservices.
Nice to Have:
- Worked with PayFac, network-tokenization, or stablecoin protocols.
- Familiar with KYC/AML workflows or blockchain compliance tools.
- Built intelligent recommendation or agentic shopping logic.
- Open-source contributions in crypto, payments, or commerce infra.

Estimated Cash Compensation for this role: $200,000-$225,000 depending on experience, plus equity
