Project Controls Engineer
Position Description:
The Project Controls Engineer shall assist the Director of Project Controls and project teams in building, analyzing and maintaining project management tools and processes. The areas of focus include but are not limited to cost, schedule, quality, change management and risk management.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
Core Responsibilities:
- Review and optimize project setups and cost structuring
- Analyze project performance, creating reports, spotting trends and risks; escalating results and communicating next steps to the appropriate Sr. Management team members
- Curate historical cost data for use by Estimating
- Administer, support and maintain existing programs and software utilized by the business
- Assist the Quality Control Manager in development of project quality plans and quality performance analysis
- Perform project controls audits and generate reports for Sr. Management and Leadership
- Assist in onboarding and training of new employees in the areas of project controls
- Assist in identifying project controls shortcomings and develop new tools to be tested and implemented with project teams
- Conducts job visits to gain familiarity of project scopes, teams and risks
- Develops positive rapports with project teams, supporting their needs while promoting the use of project controls tools
- Assist in the production of Field Operations Reports and Job Reports, manage their libraries
- Monitor project teams’ participation in project controls processes and deliverables
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS in engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years industry experience, with a focus on project controls
- Understanding of construction and project management software (such as Procore, CAD, Primavera, etc.)
- Professional certifications preferred (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.)
- Ability to effectively communicate and present content to our management and project teams
- Basic understanding and experience with civil, mechanical and geomatics related implements (such as excavators, welding and survey equipment)
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analysis skills and the ability to identify trends and issues from data
- Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables
- A strong leader with ambition and a positive attitude
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook)
