Producer, Publishing (Senior)

Hybrid, Irvine, California, United States

What's the one game you couldn't put down? The game that connected you with friends, and made you feel like you belonged? If a game has ever defined a chapter of your life, then you already know the spark we’re chasing. Our mission is to ignite that same feeling for players; the thrill of competition, the joy of community, and the belonging of finding your own corner of a larger world.

Great games begin with people who dare to dream big. If that sounds exciting, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

Bonfire is a group of experienced and ambitious developers, proud to be creating our first original IP: Arkheron. It is a fast-paced, competitive PVP game set in a surreal dark fantasy world where 15 teams of three battle their way up the Tower. In a world built from memories, you will loot powerful items to create and adapt a unique build-out that will change your strategy and combat experience with every Ascension.

The best way to understand our Production team is in their own words — here’s how they describe their work.

On the Production team, we foster an environment where artists, engineers and designers can work together seamlessly to create an exceptional game experience for our players. We love tackling complex challenges as a team; actively removing roadblocks so exploration, collaboration and creativity can flourish.  Working in both the micro and the macro, we handle everything from streamlining workflows to making sure we’re ready for future challenges – all in the name of transparency and helping everyone understand the why behind their work.

As a Senior Producer supporting Publishing, you will lead and coordinate publishing efforts for our upcoming title, Arkheron. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the primary liaison between our development team and external publishing partners, ensuring our game’s vision is clearly communicated and executed across all publishing channels. This position offers the flexibility to tailor your contributions based on your expertise, with a focus on driving launch moments and coordinating seamlessly across stakeholders.

YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE BY:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and manage publishing plans that align with development milestones and business goals. You’ll be a key driver for major launch moments — from builds and server setup to audience readiness — working closely with publishing and development teams.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with internal teams (marketing, QA, analytics, localization) and external partners to ensure strategies land smoothly and on time. You’ll connect dependencies across the studio and leverage your experience to keep launches on track.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep everyone aligned by providing clear updates, surfacing feedback, and driving accountability on immediate next steps.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate risks in publishing timelines or strategies and put proactive solutions in place to keep momentum.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine publishing workflows for efficiency and adaptability, especially in live service environments.
  • Expertise Gaps & Support: Coordinate efforts in areas like localization and player support, ensuring global integration. You’ll work closely with creative asset producers, while not directly producing assets yourself.

WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU:

  • Have 7+ years in game publishing or production, including 3+ years leading at a senior level.
  • Have led publishing projects end-to-end, ideally in multiplayer or live-service games.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, making complex ideas easy to understand across global teams.
  • Approach challenges with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Stay on top of publishing trends like digital distribution, live-service models, and community engagement.
  • Understand game development pipelines and tools, helping you connect effectively with dev teams.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving publishing needs, learning and iterating along the way.
  • Love games and the creative process, and aim for excellence in everything you bring to players.

THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE ROLE FOR YOU IF:

  • You feel most at home in a traditional, top-down structure. We work in a highly collaborative, flat environment where influence often matters more than authority.
  • You’d rather work solo most of the time. This role thrives on constant connection across teams and partners.
  • You prefer steady, unchanging processes. Here, we’re always learning, iterating, and finding better ways to do things as we grow.

YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT BONFIRE BECAUSE WE:

  • Embrace bold challenges with creativity and courage, making the tough calls to build a game we’re proud to play every day.
  • Keep fun at the core: we play Arkheron daily, staying grounded as players. If it’s not more fun than yesterday, we fix it. We don’t chase trends; we listen by playing.
  • Stay truly independent, with decisions driven by the team — not by investors or a board.
  • Thrive in a culture of passion, trust, and shared ownership; where transparency matters and egos don’t.

The base salary range for this role is $174,800 - $221,817. Depending on your experience and level (whether you’re closer to mid-level or principal), your offer may land above or below that range. We don’t just look at years on a résumé — we think about the impact you can have on the team and the game. Of course, compensation at Bonfire goes beyond salary. Every new teammate receives equity, plus a full benefits package and some extra perks to make work (and life) better. When we connect, we’ll happily walk you through the full details.
