Producer, Character Art (Senior)

Hybrid, Irvine, California, United States

What's the one game you couldn't put down? The game that connected you with friends, and made you feel like you belonged? If a game has ever defined a chapter of your life, then you already know the spark we’re chasing. Our mission is to ignite that same feeling for players; the thrill of competition, the joy of community, and the belonging of finding your own corner of a larger world.

Great games begin with people who dare to dream big. If that sounds exciting, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

Bonfire is a group of experienced and ambitious developers, proud to be creating our first original IP: Arkheron. It is a fast-paced, competitive PVP game set in a surreal dark fantasy world where 15 teams of three battle their way up the Tower. In a world built from memories, you will loot powerful items to create and adapt a unique build-out that will change your strategy and combat experience with every Ascension.

The best way to understand our Production team is in their own words — here’s how they describe their work.

On the Production team, we foster an environment where artists, engineers and designers can work together seamlessly to create an exceptional game experience for our players. We love tackling complex challenges as a team; actively removing roadblocks so exploration, collaboration and creativity can flourish.  Working in both the micro and the macro, we handle everything from streamlining workflows to making sure we’re ready for future challenges – all in the name of transparency and helping everyone understand the why behind their work.

As a Senior Art Producer, you’ll coordinate and drive character art production for Arkheron. In this role, you’ll partner closely with artists, engineers, and designers to keep the character art pipeline efficient, predictable, and aligned with game goals. You’ll be a core member of a small, highly collaborative production team, helping the studio deliver world-class assets while evolving processes as we head into live service.

YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE BY:

  • Pipeline & Production Management: Oversee character art production end-to-end, from design through QA, ensuring assets are delivered predictably and at a high quality bar. Identify and refine workflows to make the character art pipeline more efficient and sustainable.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner with artists, engineers, and designers to keep asset creation aligned with design intent and gameplay needs. Collaborate with other discipline producers to connect dependencies and align delivery targets across teams.
  • Team Empowerment & Support: Help the team stay effective by removing roadblocks, prompting discussions and decisions, and keeping goals clear. Organize and schedule meetings and reviews to keep development on track. Work across the art team to identify and facilitate outsourcing needs.
  • Communication & Alignment: Drive clear, consistent communication of decisions, status, and goals within the character art group and to the broader team. Translate near-term goals into longer-term roadmaps and ensure they’re visible and understood.
  • Process Evolution: Bring your production toolbox to adapt approaches that best fit Bonfire’s environment. Partner with the production team to refine methods that scale as we head into launch and live service.

WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU:

  • Have 7+ years in game publishing or production, including 3+ years leading at a senior level.
  • Have successfully produced a character asset pipeline from early development through launch and sustainment in live service.
  • Bring a deep set of production skills and the judgment to know which approach works best for each situation.
  • Are passionate about production craft and eager to help mature our processes in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Thrive in competitive multiplayer development, with curiosity and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Communicate clearly across disciplines, building trust and alignment in an iterative, collaborative setting.
  • Value diversity of thought and perspective, and care about helping others grow.
  • Believe, as we do, that great games come from great teams who put people first.

THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE ROLE FOR YOU IF:

  • You feel most at home in a traditional, top-down structure. We work in a highly collaborative, flat environment where influence often matters more than authority.
  • You’d rather work solo most of the time. This role thrives on constant connection across teams and partners.
  • You prefer steady, unchanging processes. Here, we’re always learning, iterating, and finding better ways to do things as we grow.

YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT BONFIRE BECAUSE WE:

  • Embrace bold challenges with creativity and courage, making the tough calls to build a game we’re proud to play every day.
  • Keep fun at the core: we play Arkheron daily, staying grounded as players. If it’s not more fun than yesterday, we fix it. We don’t chase trends; we listen by playing.
  • Stay truly independent, with decisions driven by the team — not by investors or a board.
  • Thrive in a culture of passion, trust, and shared ownership; where transparency matters and egos don’t.

The base salary range for this role is $174,800 - $221,817. Depending on your experience and level (whether you’re closer to mid-level or principal), your offer may land above or below that range. We don’t just look at years on a résumé — we think about the impact you can have on the team and the game. Of course, compensation at Bonfire goes beyond salary. Every new teammate receives equity, plus a full benefits package and some extra perks to make work (and life) better. When we connect, we’ll happily walk you through the full details.
