Aircraft Engineer, New Grad
Start the Best Work of Your Career at Boom
At Boom, we’re designing Overture—the world’s fastest airliner—and Symphony, the first purpose-built jet engine for sustainable supersonic passenger flight. Achieving this vision requires brilliant engineers who can design, analyze, and integrate complex systems, structures, and aerodynamics into a safe, high-performance aircraft.
As a new graduate Aircraft Engineer, you’ll gain hands-on experience in systems engineering, structural design, and flight sciences. You might be defining requirements for hydraulics or avionics, analyzing the aerodynamics of a wing, or developing the composite structures that tie it all together. Whatever your focus, your work will contribute directly to shaping the supersonic renaissance.
If you’re excited to learn quickly, work across disciplines, and see your ideas come to life in hardware, this role is for you.
Role Overview
As an Aircraft Engineer at Boom, you will:
- Support the design, analysis, and integration of aircraft systems, structures, and aerodynamic models
- Develop CAD models, schematics, and interface definitions to support manufacturing and assembly
- Perform analyses in areas such as aerodynamics, performance, stability, control, or structural mechanics
- Contribute to system requirements definition, verification, and documentation
- Participate in test planning and data analysis to validate models and designs
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including design, manufacturing, and test—to deliver integrated solutions
- Communicate assumptions, methods, and results clearly across disciplines
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline (graduating in Spring 2026)
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals in systems, structures, or flight sciences
- Familiarity with CAD modeling, analysis tools, or programming (MATLAB, Python, etc.)
- Exposure to integration, testing, or modeling through coursework, projects, or internships
- Clear, confident communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
- Detail-oriented, with curiosity to learn through both simulation and real-world testing
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ambition, complemented by effective collaboration skills in a team setting
- Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment
What Will Set You Apart
- Project or internship experience in aircraft systems, structures, or aerodynamics
- Familiarity with analysis tools (FEA, CFD, or flight dynamics simulations)
- Experience with requirements management or system integration methods
- Hands-on work with prototyping, wind tunnel testing, or structural testing
- Passion for sustainable aviation and the future of high-speed flight
