Boostlingo is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our talented engineering team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior QA Automation Engineer will join our talented Engineering team and be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications and designing automated tests to validate performance, stability, and functionality. You will also be asked to identify testing procedures, maintain QA reports, and collaborate with the QA and broader Engineering team. To ensure your success as a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you should have advanced programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills.

 

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF THIS ROLE

  • Participate and improve upon the product development process of Boostlingo’s SaaS applications
  • Analyze the application requirements and develop detailed test plans and test strategies
  • Design and implement test automation framework(s) to create automated regression test suite and script
  • Test application performance on cross platforms
  • Perform user acceptance testing. Implement keyword driven frameworks
  • Automate test cases
  • Create proof of concept (POC) for automated software testing programs by creating framework and automating positive and negative test scenarios
  • Create requirement traceability matrices and test results metrics using integration and system test plans
  • Create test data and support test planning by performing task estimation
  • Review automation test code and provide feedback to improve code quality
  • Contribute to the improvement and advancement of formal QA processes with the goal of consistently using industry accepted best practices
  • Establish and leverage critical metrics, new tools, and refined processes to ensure that quality goals are met
  • Act as a key point of contact for QA tasks during release management
  • Coordinate an automated testing strategy while transitioning from a manual testing approach to a hybrid one.
  • Work with Engineering and Product leadership to identify risks early in the testing process
  • Work independently, meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage multiple projects at a time
  • Assist with deployments and work with DevOps to troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Contribute to creating an engineering culture that supports innovation and creativity while delivering high quality products with predictability and reliability and one that fosters ownership and teamwork over individualism.

 

WHAT MAKES YOU PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Advanced programming skills including automation systems and databases along with deep experience in testing large scale SaaS applications end to end (backend as well as web/mobile UIs) with automation frameworks / tools
  • Experience with testing applications using Twilio
  • Experience with using TestRails for Test plan / case management
  • Experience with automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG
  • Experience with REST API testing using tools such as Postman or languages such as Python
  • Experience with Java, .NET, Javascript, and/or Typescript
  • Experience with load testing and large data sets
  • Experience in usage of Jira and Agile development processes
  • Proficient at using appropriate security, testing, documentation, and/or monitoring best practices

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years’ experience working as a QA automation engineer or, more generally, in software quality assurance and automation testing
  • Knowledge of programming script languages including Java, Python, and C#
  • Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate both technical and non-technical aspects in a clear and effective manner
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while being able to maintain the highest quality standards
  • Adept at remaining flexible. A seasoned pro at necessary context switching from one project or task to another quickly and efficiently
  • Desire and willingness to learn new technology and tools
  • Be results-oriented with strong independent time management skills
  • Ability to think creatively to find unique solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot large scale production systems
  • A passion to use technology to solve business challenges
  • Ability to identify when you are stuck or road blocked so you can be supported by the team
