About The Role

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, we are seeking a Treasury Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring all treasury-related transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with both the Treasury and Corporate Accounting teams.

What You'll Do

 

  • Record and reconcile all treasury-related journal entries, including but not limited to cash movements, intercompany transfers, intercompany billing, interest, fees, and debt activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of entries in Yardi.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team during month-end close to ensure treasury activity is properly reflected in financial statements.
  • Monitor the company’s cash position to meet operational needs
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all treasury transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the Treasury function.
  • Assist with ad hoc treasury and accounting projects as needed.
  • Execute high-value transactions, including financing, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Assist with opening and closing bank accounts and acting as an admin on bank access.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks and lending partners, identifying opportunities to enhance banking services and expand partnerships.
  • Assist with the review quarterly treasury reports prepared for senior leadership.
  • Assist with treasury audit procedures, working closely with auditors to provide required documentation and review financial statement note
  • Assist with treasury-specific and cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Perform additional job-related duties or projects as assigned.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the Treasury process and provide solutions

 

What You Bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Working towards a CPA designation (or already CPA-designated).
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience or more, preferably in a corporate or treasury-related role.
  • Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Yardi experience is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

 

Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.

Salary

$61,406 - $84,420 CAD
