HR Associate/Manager – Warehouse & Fleet Operations

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Associate/Manager to manage human resources functions and support trucking warehouse employees(including contractors). This role will oversee payroll administration, recruitment, daily employee support, and compliance management, ensuring smooth HR operations within the trucking warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, people-focused, and knowledgeable in labor regulations applicable to non-exempt employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Administration
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for non-exempt employees and contractors.
- Track attendance, overtime, and shift differentials to ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Address payroll discrepancies, resolve employee inquiries, and coordinate with finance/payroll teams.
2. Recruiting & Hiring
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for trucking warehouse non-exempt roles and contractors, including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Partner with staffing agencies to source qualified contractors and seasonal workers as needed.
- Conduct background checks, verify work eligibility, and ensure new hires meet job requirements.
3. Employee Support & Relations
- Act as the primary HR contact for trucking warehouse employees and contractors, addressing workplace concerns and day-to-day HR needs.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and training sessions to ensure smooth onboarding.
- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Help employees adapt culture in a fast-evolving and ethnicity-diversed workplace.
4. Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws for non-exempt employees and contractors, including wage & hour laws, DOT regulations, OSHA, and workplace safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records related to employee documentation, work authorizations, health insurance, and HR compliance requirements.
- Conduct routine audits and training on workplace policies, safety, and labor regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of HR experience, particularly in a truck, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and timekeeping systems.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding non-exempt employees.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, labor laws, OSHA regulations, and contractor compliance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
