This is an in-office role working three to five days per week in Portland, Oregon based on the needs of the team.

Our program is designed by addiction medicine specialists and people with lived experience of recovery. It is rooted in years of clinical expertise, proven research, and learnings from our participants.

Our mission is to improve the lives of people with substance use disorders. We provide the medication, resources, and support to help our participants succeed on their own terms, wherever they are in their journey.

Boulder Care is in an exciting stage of rapid growth, coming off a recent $35 million Series C round announced in May 2024, bringing total funds raised to roughly $85 million. Investors include Advance Venture Partners, First Round Capital, Laerdal Million Lives Fund, Qiming Venture Partners and Stripes, among others.

About this role

We are seeking a Junior IT Support Specialist to join our team in Portland, OR. You will serve as the first point of contact for internal users experiencing IT issues, with a focus on Chromebooks, MacOS, application troubleshooting, and user management. The role requires an early start time of 6 AM PST to provide support to our East Coast users.

Success in this role

Technical Support & IT Administration - 50%

  • Provide technical support for Chromebooks, MacOS, and cloud-based applications.
  • Manage Okta, Apple Device Manager, Google Workspace, and Slack for user provisioning and access control.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for both remote and in-office employees.
  • Support account provisioning, deactivation, and security configurations across multiple platforms.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure, network troubleshooting, and security best practices.
  • Document IT processes, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge base articles.
  • Work on automation and scripting for IT tasks (coding experience and knowledge is required, preferably in Python).
  • Support IT projects and handle additional duties as needed.

Problem Solving & Customer Service - 50%

  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal users experiencing technical issues.
  • Provision and manage user accounts in IT systems.
  • Work closely with the Boulder Care team to assess, troubleshoot, and prioritize IT issues affecting their workflows.
  • Diagnose, research, and troubleshoot user-reported issues to identify solutions.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to users, ensuring proper documentation and resolution tracking.

Requirements for the role 

  • Relevant IT education or training, or 1 year of prior IT experience
  • Experience with MacOS, Chromebooks, and cloud-based applications
  • Familiarity with Okta, Apple Device Manager, Google Workspace, and Slack administration is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical users
  • Basic coding or scripting experience (Python preferred)
  • Ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week

Nice to have but not required 

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification 

Work environment

  • This role requires you to live within a commutable distance of Portland, Oregon
    • Changes to working location require pre-approval from People Operations and are not guaranteed.
  • Office Requirements: Boulder teammates working with sensitive information must have a dedicated, private workspace with a lockable door and high-speed internet to maintain a secure, distraction-free environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards when working remotely

Expected hours of work

This is a full-time in-office position expected to work 40 hours between Monday-Friday from 6am - 3pm PST.

Compensation

The starting pay range for this position is $22 - $25 per hour and based on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
