Reporting to the VP of Sales, Boulevard is looking for a sales leader to lead our newly established field sales organization. As the Director of Field Sales, you’ll be responsible for architecting and executing the regional field strategy to drive predictable, scalable acquisition in the SMB segment. You will be accountable for quota attainment, talent development, process discipline, and overall field execution in Boulevard’s highest-potential region.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of Territory Account Executives selling into the SMB market in New York, while establishing a local presence in the market. You have a track record of success in managing teams towards achieving results and you can drive accurate reporting to company leadership. You are familiar with Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, and other sales tools, as well as coaching and mentoring Territory Account Executives.

This is a field sales opportunity based out of a personal home office. Travel a minimum of 50% to co-sell with the sales team. You must live local to New York City, NY (Manhattan preferred) or be willing to relocate to the area. 

What you’ll do here:

GTM Strategy & Execution

  • Strategically design the field sales motion for Boulevard’s SMB segment in NYC and future expanded regions
  • Develop and operationalize the field playbook, integrating local prospecting, local events, partnerships, and walk-in strategies to drive pipeline
  • Establish and scale regional growth strategies through market mapping, territory planning, and performance analysis. This role is responsible for designing a model that will scale to other cities (LA, Chicago) and expected to hire/train/manage future regional leaders.
  • Track competitive dynamics and market trends to inform sales positioning and broader GTM strategy
  • Establish territory domain to build top of funnel leads and referrals by connecting with local customers and partners, and attending/hosting local events within your community, kickstarting the flywheel to build Boulevard’s brand awareness within designated territory.

Sales Leadership & Team Management

  • Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of Territory Account Executives with an emphasis on repeatability and ramp velocity
  • Drive a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement
  • Set and manage performance expectations aligned with company objectives, ensuring team-wide overachievement
  • Develop, document, and implement repeatable sales processes and best practices to drive efficiency and ensure scalable growth

Operational Excellence & Forecasting

  • Own team pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and field activity metrics
  • Collaborate with RevOps to optimize reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, CX, Enablement, and Product to create a coordinated regional GTM motion

What you’ll need to thrive:

    • Passion for small business: You are dedicated to helping SMBs thrive. 
    • Sales leadership experience: 2+ years of Director or Senior Manager role leading field sales teams at scale 
    • Full cycle sales experience: 7+ years selling complex software solutions that require a rip & replace migration (payments/fintech a plus)
    • Team Scaling: Track record of exceeding revenue targets and scaling repeatable sales motions
    • Strategy and Execution: Strong strategic thinking with operational rigor and data-driven decision-making
    • Process and data orientation: Deep familiarity with Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, and structured sales methodologies
    • Prior Field Success: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in competitive markets

  • Have passed Boulevard’s platform training, showcasing a broad understanding of our technology & how we work
  • Have a solid understanding of Boulevard’s processes, systems, and sales materials
  • Have observed sales demos with various types of customers
  • Truly understand the core strengths and capabilities of the existing sales team
  • Have met your cross-functional teammates in Revenue Ops, Customer Success, R&D, People & Culture, Product, Payments, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Have analyzed and strategized success for the NYC market
  • Have hired your first Field AEs

How we’ll take care of you:  

Your starting total cash compensation for this role may be between $312,000 - $370,000, depending on factors such as location, experience, training, market demands and final level. This total compensation range is subject to change, and there is always room for growth and advancement.
