What’s the Role Look Like?
Clipboard Health is a labor marketplace that is composed of many local labor marketplaces.
We’re hiring people to act as an owner over some of these localized labor marketplaces.
As the owner of a localized market, success is defined by growth. This requires a deep understanding of customers, which can only be created through repeat customer interactions. We’re a remote company, but we expect you to be on the ground with customers frequently enough to live and breathe the market they’re covering. Customer interactions will reveal the actions we need to take to grow the market, and we expect you to both discover the actions and carry them out to yield growth in your market.
You have to be comfortable without a manual to succeed in this role. You’ll have to choose what to prioritize and deliver outcomes. You need to be right often - excuses won’t work. Judgment, hustle, business acumen, and curiosity are all required in spades.

- Turn your learnings into a playbook and execute on that playbook (internally known as a “Vertical Operator”)
- Do discovery in new parts of the business to distribute new products / gather new demand side customers (internally known as a “New Vertical Founder”)
- Move into another part of the organization entirely
What Experience is Necessary for the Role?
None necessary! We’re not a company that thinks it's necessary to have done something before to do it well. We hire “general athletes” who embody the traits we think are necessary to succeed in the role.
We are currently only hiring candidates located in the top 50 MSAs for this role given that we expect in person customer interactions.
Where does this role sit within our organization?
You’ll sit within our Strategy and Operations organization and report into Wyatt Amaral, our Head of Strategy and Operations.
This role is not directly related to product development. We hope that you’ll generate ideas that will end up being picked up by a product manager, but you are responsible for winning markets with our current tools (we’ve done it dozens of times without any focused effort or GTM motion already - it’s definitely possible!).
The Process
This role is unique relative to many other roles within the Product Organization. While some of the principles mentioned in our blog still apply, we have a higher tolerance for failure in this role than many others in our organization given that people will be judged based upon success within their market.
There will be one case study and three interviews for this role.
Compensation
Compensation will be made up of base, variable bonus, and equity.
Base compensation for this role will range from $60-120k.
Target variable compensation will range from 30% - 50% of base compensation.
Equity will also be offered.
