WHY BOX NEEDS YOU?
The Content Capabilities team is relatively new and is tasked with the ambitious goal of supporting the Box Content Cloud’s next 10x wave of growth. We aim to achieve this by building innovative new platform capabilities, enabling our product teams and customers to build intuitive and differentiated experiences that scale to millions of users.
We’re close to delivering the first set of features, unlocking new use cases and significantly increasing the scale at which users can collaborate on content. The team is just getting started though and has a strong roadmap of new capabilities to build. That's where you come in!
As we embark on this journey, we're looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join us and play an important role. You'll have the opportunity to work with a small team of talented, collaborative, and fun people, solving some of the toughest challenges in the content management space. The work you do will have an immediate impact on the productivity of millions of users, at some of the most important enterprises of our time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO?

Work closely with engineering leadership to develop strategies for evolving the platform to its next generation.

Collaborate with product management to help refine requirements, break down complex projects into meaningful, deliverable units and lead the effort.

Design and implement scalable services with a focus on reliability, observability, operability and efficiency.

Continually improve the current code base and infrastructure patterns.

Work with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, BigTable, Elasticsearch, Spark, and Istio.

Mentor new engineers and interns, contribute to team growth and development.
WHO YOU ARE?

3+ years of professional software development experience building high-scale services.

Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in languages like Java, PHP, Go, C or C++.

You have experience designing, building, and deploying high quality software.

You are excited about solving complex technical problems using data-driven solutions.

You act like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactions.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services.

Experience with message queues and/or streaming platforms (ex. Google Pub/Sub, Apache Kafka).

Experience building, deploying, and operating microservices on Kubernetes.
