Why Box needs you:
Our Threat Protection team is dedicated to empowering Box administrators with the tools they need to ensure the security of our platform. We offer a comprehensive collection of features that provide timely security alerts and effective response actions in the face of potential threats. Our feature-set can be divided into two main areas: Anomaly Detection and Malware Detection.
Who you are:
- 3-4 years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, C++, or other modern software development languages
- Knowledge of cloud environment principles and experience developing applications with microservices architecture
- Ability to assess, communicate, and meet project milestones in a timely manner with managers and team members
- Fluent English speaking skills
- Interest in security topics such as authentication, identity, and industry best practices
- Practical experience working with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Kubernetes
You will be expected to:
- Attend and engage in stand ups and maintain sprint task statuses in issue tracking tool daily
- Attend team, project, and manager 1:1 meetings weekly
- Collaborate with Product Management to help refine requirements and break down complex projects into meaningful, deliverable units
- Work collaboratively with other engineers, team members, across teams, and with partner organizations
- Respond to technical and behavioral feedback from manager and peers
- Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture
- Represent Box Poland internally and externalls
- Participate in the production on-call rotation with the team members
Percentage of Time Spent:
- 60% coding
- 10% technical design
- 10% documentation
- 10% bug fixes/maintenance
- 10% meetings
Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture. Boxers are expected to work from their assigned office a minimum of 2 days per week, with a focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
