Box's Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) allows organizations to manage content securely and efficiently across its entire lifecycle, from creation to disposition. Box provides a centralized platform for managing all content, including features for version control, collaboration, retention, eDiscovery, and disposition.
Box's Data Governance platform gives you the flexibility to remove unnecessary data without compromising retention. Advanced trash controls reduce enterprise risk by providing the right balance between automatically purging content and delegating or restricting permanent trash deletion to authorized users. Plus, it empowers users to restore content in the event of accidental deletion.
Box Security and Governance is a cutting-edge product launched by Box to protect and govern the flow of information.
As an Engineering Manager on Box's Content Lifecycle Management (CLM), you will lead a team of Software engineers to build out the core foundations of this platform in areas of Governance, eDiscovery, Disposition Insights, Legal Holds, etc that enable customers to solve real enterprise use cases at scale in a secure and compliant way. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and mentor a team of Software engineers to develop Box's Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) that powers Box Governance.
- Drive technical strategy while ensuring security, compliance, and reliability for our AI solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, Security, and Legal—to create seamless AI-powered experiences.
- Stay informed on trends in Governance, Discovery, AI technology to enhance our platform's capabilities continuously.
- Foster a culture focused on innovation, technical excellence, and ongoing learning.
- Work alongside senior leadership to establish a roadmap for team initiatives over the next year.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are enthusiastic about solving complex software architectures & challenges using data-driven approaches.
- You take initiative in your work aiming for outcomes that reflect your values while enjoying collaboration with others.
- You inspire teamwork through mentoring while also valuing opportunities to learn from fellow engineers.
- You bring experience contributing to designing or deploying machine learning systems effectively at various scales.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering/machine learning, with at least 4 years in a people management role.
- Proven ability leading collaborative projects involving multiple stakeholders across different functions.
- Demonstrated capability building effective engineering teams focused on performance improvement.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a collaborative mindset are essential.
- Strong background in AI/ML infrastructure, distributed systems and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Hands on experience in programming languages like Java, Scala, Go, C++ with technical background.
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related fields.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Masters in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven track record of roadmap planning in which short-term projects ladder up to long-term vision
- Proficiency in Java, Microservices, GCP Platform, Asynchronous Messaging, Operational Excellence and Observability
- Experience with Kubernetes bases systems
