WHY BOX NEEDS YOU 

We are seeking a bright individual to fully support and process our Japan payrolls end to end including reconciliations, reporting and payroll accounting entries.  This role will report to the Manager of Payroll and will ensure accurate, timely processing and funding of all our Japan payrolls as well as partner closely with other cross-functional teams (e.g. Commissions, People Operations, Equity, Benefits). Provide local support for our  Global Commission team as needed.   Lead and oversee payroll projects, ad-hoc requests and support the Jr. Payroll Specialists. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Full-cycle processing of Japan Payrolls on a monthly basis
  • Incorporating payroll data from multiple internal departments and external benefit vendors 
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Review, reconcile and audit payroll before submission, complying with company pay policies, contractual and statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate payroll approvals and funding instructions with management.
  • Prepare monthly accounting payroll journals, accrual reports and reconciliations for our Month End Close.
  • Manage relationship with our global payroll providers with focus on the accuracy and timely receipt of payroll reports.
  • Effectively serving as a main contact for all payroll related matters for all Boxers in a timely manner. Providing excellent payroll support to all employees by addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests. 
  • Train and support Jr. Payroll Specialists when applicable 
  • Take the lead for various ad-hoc projects
  • Manage payroll compliance matters and key annual audits including external financial and SOX audits
  • Performing user acceptance testing (UAT) for payroll related system improvements and additions. Providing support in various system implementation projects as needed (e.g. HCM, equity tracking, etc.)
  • Documenting payroll processes as well as recognizing opportunities and recommending scalable processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy. 
  • Providing standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as needed by various internal departments such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Equity and People Operations.
  • Effectively collaborating with the global People Organization, Legal, Accounting, Finance and business units on general payroll matters with cross functional impact. Specifically, but is not limited to, new hire processes, cash, bonus and other non-recurring payment processing, and termination

 

 

 

Expected Responsibilities and Roles of a Commission Analyst

  • Perform verification tasks to enhance the accuracy of monthly commission data (e.g., calculation of draws for LOA and new hires).
  • Collaborate with the HQ commission team to resolve employee inquiries related to commissions and supporting them at the local level 
  • Provide  necessary information for commission calculations to the commission team.

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  • 4+ years work experience in payroll working for a Global/ International Company 
  • Hands on experience with multi country Payrolls end to end 
  • BA degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Workday and CloudPay experience preferred
  • Experience working with 3rd party payroll providers
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivots)
  • Handle sensitive and confidential data with the utmost discretion
  • Team player who can can also work independently in a highly driven deadline environment
  • Strong math, analytical, research, problem solving and communication skills
