Why Box Needs You
This Engineering Business Operations Manager will be a key partner for the Engineering Business Operations and Strategy (EBOS) organization, responsible for providing operational support and expertise to Box Engineering teams across the Build organization. This role will have a focus on our EMEA teams. You will guide and prepare teams through planning and reporting processes - including Annual Planning, Quarterly Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, and monthly Operational Reviews - and drive critical processes for tracking performance metrics and helping leadership measure and report on key goals. We are looking for someone who can help us scale in a way that supports our continued growth. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of EBOS.
What You’ll Do
- Own optimization strategies and recognize opportunities to improve team functions; design and improve operational workflows to reduce friction and increase efficiency.
- Guide and prepare Engineering teams across EMEA for all planning and reporting processes, including Annual Planning, Quarterly Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), monthly Operational Reviews, and related cadences.
- Drive and maintain OKR tracking and KPI measurement for engineering teams; build reporting and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into performance and progress against goals.
- Partner with Engineering leadership on production support and SLA management; monitor SLA performance, and support resolution and communication.
- Compile and analyze data from engineering and cross-functional partners to assess performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and support strategic decisions.
- Create and deliver presentations and materials for leadership and business reviews; ensure consistent, accurate reporting across EBOS and Build organization stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Finance on planning alignment, resource allocation, and operational initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc EBOS projects and operational improvements to enable scale and continued growth.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in business operations, engineering operations, or a related operational role.
- Strong operational and process ownership: you guide teams through planning cycles and reporting with clarity and consistency.
- Experience driving OKR tracking, KPI measurement, and performance reporting for technical or engineering teams.
- Ability to recognize optimization opportunities and improve team functions; comfort with workflow design and continuous improvement.
- Analytical mindset: you interpret data, identify bottlenecks, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear presentations and reports for leadership.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with cross-functional partners and engineering leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; experience in a scaling tech company is a plus.

Additional points for
- Experience in Engineering or Technical Operations; familiarity with software development lifecycles and engineering metrics.
- Proficiency with data and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, JIRA, or similar).
- Experience supporting EMEA or other international teams; comfort with distributed and cross-time-zone collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering Management, or a related field preferred.
