Data Center Technician – Technical IT 2
In this role:
You will be part of a team responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT hardware in enterprise data centers. This hands-on role ensures the operational excellence of mission-critical infrastructure by performing physical hardware tasks, supporting incident resolution, and adhering to industry-leading safety and compliance standards. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong sense of accountability are essential as you contribute to the ongoing support of complex IT environments.
Responsibilities:

Perform installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers and networking equipment in data center environments.

Conduct hardware diagnostics and troubleshoot system issues to resolution or escalation.

Follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment handling, labeling, and documentation.

Maintain accurate records of work completed using ticketing systems and asset management tools.

Comply with all data center health and safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to security protocols.

Support inventory management and coordinate with logistics teams for hardware movement and tracking.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT support and network engineering, to fulfill deployment and incident response tasks.

Participate in on-call rotations or shift-based schedules, including nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications:

Foundational understanding of computer hardware components and server architecture (CPU, memory, storage, networking).

Experience working in IT support, helpdesk, or hardware-related field environments.

Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard ticketing tools.

Physical ability to lift/carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in confined or elevated spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Willingness and flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:

1–2 years of experience in a data center or large-scale IT environment.

Familiarity with server diagnostic tools, basic networking concepts, and cable management best practices.

Experience using asset tracking systems and documentation platforms.

CompTIA A+, Server+, or related technical certifications.

Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $25.48USD/hr. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
