Hybrid role in Redmond, WA
In This Role
You will be responsible for driving the execution of software asset management (SAM) projects, coordinating with global stakeholders, and ensuring efficient license operations and compliance. This highly visible position involves project planning, backlog management, and implementing SAM strategies using tools like ServiceNow and Power BI. You'll work closely with procurement, business units, and licensing services teams to reduce software-related risks and costs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a maturing SAM environment with executive-level visibility and the chance to influence software operations at scale.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and execute software licensing consolidation projects in collaboration with internal business teams.

Lead backlog creation, Agile ceremonies, and ensure data is properly maintained in ADO (Azure DevOps).

Drive the deployment and improvement of SAM operations and tools based on best practices and ISO standards.

Deliver executive-level reporting on licensing strategies and implementations.

Conduct license allocation, reconciliation, and compliance activities.

Edit, refine, and document processes and procedures related to software licensing and asset management.

Lead or support meetings (25%), perform project management tasks (50%), and handle documentation and email communications (25%).

Build and maintain SharePoint sites for collaboration and information management.

Perform data analysis, SQL queries, and dashboard creation using Power BI.
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)

2+ years of experience administering software licensing contracts

1+ years of experience in data analysis, SQL querying, and Power BI dashboard creation

Proficient in creating and maintaining SharePoint sites

Strong project management background (non-IT projects)

Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and deliver high-quality work with limited oversight

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Fluent in English and experienced in collaborating with global teams
Preferred Qualifications

PMP or certified project manager credentials
-
Experience in IT service operations or software lifecycle management

Hands-on experience using SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM Pro)

Familiarity with ISO 19770 and SAM best practices

Consultative mindset with demonstrated leadership capabilities

Experience influencing stakeholders across groups without direct authority

Track record of working in high-profile or global project environments

Proven process improvement and negotiation skills

Strong ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position, based on Washington state market data, is hourly rate would fall roughly between $36 and $38.50 per hour. The final salary and job title will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may fall outside this range.
