Technical Writer – Privacy & Compliance Documentation
In this Role
You will be responsible for creating documentation change-log reports that highlight and summarize updates made to technical content. Your primary focus will be on reviewing previous versions of technical articles, comparing them to updated versions, and creating clear, well-structured summaries for compliance stakeholders in the European Union. Most of the work will be independent and heads-down, with light team collaboration through check-in meetings. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a regulated environment, supporting compliance reporting for enterprise technology.
Responsibilities
- Review existing and updated technical documentation and identify notable changes.
- Create weekly content summaries that describe changes in a simple and accurate manner.
- Use GitHub to track, mark, and organize documentation changes.
- Prepare and format reports in Word for distribution to compliance stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical writers and engineering partners to validate accuracy.
- Attend weekly check-ins to review deliverables and align on priorities.
- Ensure all documentation meets clarity, quality, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience creating and editing technical writing for enterprise IT audiences (enterprise admins, IT generalists, or similar).
- Minimum 2 years of experience with GitHub (content management, version comparison, or contribution tracking).
- Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Word (or equivalent) for technical documentation.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and conversational content tailored for technical professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver on time.
- Good communication skills for working with peers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in privacy, security, or compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with highly regulated environments and reporting practices.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Portfolio or writing samples demonstrating technical writing skills (not required but nice to have).
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic-based ranges for Washington state: $30 to $31.25/ Hr . The final salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may fall outside this range.
