Senior Business Analyst – Budget Management and Subscription

In This Role
As a Business Analyst (Finance/Budget Management), you will play a key role in supporting financial health and accountability across the organization. Most of your time will be spent analyzing budget data, reviewing project financials, and ensuring alignment with subscription-based spend targets. You will maintain and enhance reporting tools such as Power BI dashboards and Excel models, while also designing streamlined processes that improve visibility and accuracy in budget tracking.
This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, procurement, and leadership teams, providing exposure to a wide variety of business functions. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to enhance budget processes, prevent overruns, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, data-driven insights.
Responsibilities

Support and oversee budget approvals for engineering subscription spend.

Monitor and track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring costs align with forecasts.

Build, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel models to manage budget performance.

Review, approve, and document key business processes related to financial management.

Predict and mitigate budget overruns, offering proactive recommendations and solutions.

Partner with finance, procurement, and engineering teams to manage budget requests end-to-end.

Develop streamlined processes to improve subscription spend visibility and control.

Act as a business analyst for financial operations, maintaining strong vendor and stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications (Required)

8–10 years of experience in budget management within enterprise technology environments.

Strong background in finance, accounting, or business management.

Proven ability to manage subscription-based spend and build processes around recurring financial commitments.

Minimum 8 years of experience with advanced Excel and Power BI, including dashboard development and complex reporting.

At least 6 years of experience driving process improvements in financial or operational settings.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or Economics (not required but preferred).

Experience collaborating across finance, procurement, and engineering functions.

Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives related to budget and spend management.

Prior experience with enterprise applications and financial systems.

Familiarity with subscription lifecycle management and reporting best practices.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $90,000 - $100,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
