In This Role (Overview)

In this role, you will support two large engineering organizations by managing end-to-end headcount processes, driving data accuracy, and delivering insights that inform workforce planning and operational decisions. You will work closely with senior leaders to maintain clean organizational structures, partner on hiring-related initiatives, and build/maintain reporting dashboards that support business operations at scale. This role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

 

Responsibilities

Headcount Management & Workforce Operations

  • Own end-to-end headcount (HC) management for two large global engineering teams (~2,500 employees worldwide).
  • Maintain accurate organizational hierarchies, position counts, and workforce structures.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify mismatches or gaps and provide timely corrections.
  • Ensure timely updates to HC reports, forecasting tools, and dashboards.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform detailed analysis using Excel and Power BI to deliver insights on staffing, roles, hiring trends, and workforce distribution.
  • Build, refresh, and maintain dashboards and automated reports that support leadership decision-making.
  • Provide reporting accuracy, data hygiene, and quality checks across all deliverables.

Project & Operational Support

  • Support hiring process quality by partnering with hiring managers (the role does not conduct hiring directly).
  • Manage an industry hiring project to ensure alignment with best practices and organizational standards.
  • Execute ad hoc operational projects, including process cleanups, reporting improvements, and organizational updates.
  • Communicate results and prepare materials in PowerPoint for leadership reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with two directors and a cross-functional business management office to support operational excellence.
  • Coordinate effectively across engineering, product, talent, and finance teams for HC-related activities.
  • Maintain documentation and SharePoint sites for reporting, dashboards, and project materials.

 

 Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in business operations, workforce analytics, HC management, or data-driven roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (business, finance, economics, statistics, MIS, operations, or related).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with headcount management or workforce processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience with data analysis using Excel and Power BI.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with SharePoint and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, find patterns, and drive insights.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong execution skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with senior leaders.

 

Preferred Qualifications

(Not required but highly valuable)

  • Experience supporting engineering, product, or technical teams.
  • Background in business management, PMO work, or operations for large organizations.
  • Familiarity with workforce planning, organizational design, and HC reporting systems.
  • Experience creating automated dashboards or self-service reporting solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in improving processes and reducing operational noise.

Salary Range 

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $ 28.37 USD/hr. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
