In This Role
Join a dynamic digital product team focused on calendar and productivity user experience research with a specialized emphasis on AI-powered features. As a UX Research Specialist, you'll execute impactful research to uncover deep customer insights that influence product decisions for web-based productivity tools used by millions worldwide. This hands-on role offers the unique opportunity to conduct research on cutting-edge AI experiences while working alongside a highly collaborative research team in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute remote usability studies including both unmoderated and moderated research sessions with users
- Analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources into comprehensive reports, video compilations, and issue tracking documentation
- Conduct in-depth qualitative interviews and write surveys while analyzing quantitative data to identify trends and validate hypotheses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into actionable product improvements
- Perform sensemaking across data sources, prioritizing issues and tracking the impact of research on product development
- Audit existing research and synthesize insights to inform ongoing product strategy and customer experience improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or other data- or research-centric field required
- Minimum 2+ years of UX researcher experience, OR 1+ year in UX research combined with 2+ years in related product-making roles (design, data science, or project management)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with digital products and running in-depth qualitative interviews
- Minimum 2+ years of research planning and/or project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects independently
- Experience with qualitative research methods, insight synthesis, survey design, and analyzing quantitative data
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively with strong coordination, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Industry experience effectively partnering with cross-functional teams to drive user experience improvements based on research results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with online research tools and video editing software, particularly UserTesting.com
- Demonstrated skill with qualitative usability methods including synthesizing human behavior into insights and driving the voice of the customer in product development
- Basic understanding of LLM-based AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Gemini
- Experience with AI tools for research synthesis (e.g., Copilot, Marvin)
- Ability to commit to an 18-month contract for project continuity
- Experience conducting research on AI-powered features and digital experiences
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $35.58 to $40.38 USD/per hour. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
