The Position:

The Account Director is an experienced marketing professional with the ability to inspire client engagement and identify opportunities for account growth. This role leads the day-to-day aspects of serving assigned clients and acts as the primary point of contact for all initiatives. The Account Director owns the client relationship, continuously nurtures it, and serves as the voice of the client within the agency. This role is responsible for ensuring that client needs and goals are met across every project, while delivering an exceptional client experience in every interaction. The Account Director develops a deep understanding of each client’s business, consumer base, and marketplace, ensuring all agency work aligns with client objectives.

The Responsibilities:

Includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the primary contact for both client and internal teams for all service areas related to assigned clients and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts, delivering service excellence throughout all stages of engagement.
  • Ensure internal teams successfully execute all aspects of the client engagement.
  • Lead internal teams in developing business solutions to address client needs, including marketing and advertising strategies, brand and communications plans, creative concepts, media plans, and data-driven initiatives.
  • Oversee implementation of programs across all aspects of client work. This includes strategy and creative brief development, facilitation of deliverables, client presentations, collaboration with the Project Management team, media planning and execution, and coordination with the Data Solutions & Analytics team.
  • Keep both clients and internal teams informed on project direction and deliverables, ensuring consistent forward momentum.
  • Manage project execution details while contributing to higher-level strategic direction.
  • Develop ongoing strategic recommendations that address client business objectives beyond the contracted scope.
  • Partner with the Account Principal to execute account strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and present deliverables in client meetings.
  • Ensure all work aligns with client brand guidelines and marketing strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to expand agency services within existing accounts.
  • Create case studies showcasing successful campaigns.
  • Monitor and manage overall client satisfaction.
  • Represent BPD at industry trade shows.
  • Prepare statements of work and proposals for existing clients.
  • Support preparation for new business pitches.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of client industries, consumer profiles, and competitive landscapes.
  • Facilitate weekly client-facing status meetings.
  • Uphold professional relationships internally and externally in line with company core values.

The Essentials:

  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Advertising agency experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly, concisely, and confidently articulate information and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience leading all aspects of multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns across both traditional and digital channels.
  • Solid understanding of the overall media landscape, with experience managing digital media campaigns.
  • Team-oriented leader with the ability to inspire and collaborate across large, cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and anticipating both client and internal team needs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
