The Position:
As an Account Executive, you are a motivated communicator who brings precision, creativity and proactivity to every assignment.
You contribute to building and protecting the reputations of top healthcare brands through external communications strategies including earned media, thought leadership, executive visibility, positioning, and stakeholder engagement, as well as internal communications that reach physicians, nurses and employees. You also support reputation protection efforts by contributing to issues and crisis planning, scenario planning, playbooks, training and response support.
The Account Executive blends strong writing, media coordination and organizational skills, with a strong emphasis on driving proactive media relations strategies, from spotting opportunities and shaping storylines to building relationships with reporters and securing meaningful coverage. You serve as a dependable contributor to both clients and colleagues, with a focus on flawless execution and continuous growth.
The Responsibilities:
Includes, but not limited to the following:
- Support the development and execution of integrated communications strategies including earned media, thought leadership, executive visibility, positioning and stakeholder engagement campaigns.
- Contribute to proactive media relations efforts by spotting opportunities, drafting and personalizing pitches, building relationships with reporters and helping secure meaningful coverage.
- Monitor industry and healthcare trends to identify emerging storylines and recommend outreach strategies that advance client narratives.
- Assist with audience insights, message strategy and content development to ensure communications are relevant and compelling.
- Draft and edit a variety of materials including press releases, blogs, social media posts, talking points, bylines and executive messaging.
- Support reputation protection initiatives through monitoring, research and preparation of background materials as well as maintaining issues and crisis playbooks and scenario plans.
- Manage trackers, timelines and project deliverables with strong attention to detail and urgency.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across functions to deliver integrated, high-quality communications programs.
- Embrace feedback, apply learnings and actively build new skills to grow into a trusted, client-ready communicator.
The Essentials:
- Strong writing and editing skills across multiple formats and platforms.
- 2-4 years of agency or in-house healthcare experience required/preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
- Collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset with eagerness to learn and grow.
- Media relations experience or interest in developing relationships with journalists.
- Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly both internally and externally.
- Ability to travel as needed.
