Vice President, Strategy

Boca Raton, FL or Nashville, TN

We’re looking for talented candidates based in South Florida, Nashville, Orlando, Tampa, or Atlanta who are excited to be part of a team that thrives on collaboration and connection.

Our offices in Boca Raton, FL and Nashville, TN are where we come together for collaboration, education, and celebrations, and we’re looking for teammates who can join us in person for those meaningful moments.

Reports to: EVP, Strategy & Innovation
Years Experience: 10+ Years
Department: Strategy

The Position:

We're looking for a strategist who sees the big picture, challenges conventional thinking, and is always looking for the next bold idea.

At BPD Health, strategy sits at the intersection of business, brand, creativity, and human behavior. Our clients include health systems, hospitals, health tech companies, pharmaceutical and medtech organizations, and consumer wellness brands. They’re navigating changing consumer expectations, new competitors, evolving business models, financial pressures, and a healthcare industry being fundamentally reshaped by AI and technology.

We need someone who can help them figure out what's next.

The ideal candidate brings the business acumen of a management consultant and the creative instincts of a brand strategist. Someone equally comfortable analyzing market dynamics, advising C-Suite executives, uncovering consumer insights, developing a brand positioning strategy, and writing a creative brief that inspires exceptional work.

You'll work closely with our creative, research, analytics, media, and account management teams to develop strategies that are insightful, commercially sound, and creatively compelling. You'll lead the strategic thinking, roll up your sleeves to do the work, and help bring others along.

We're looking for someone who asks better questions, loves a good research report, knows their way around an earnings report, and can spot the business opportunity hiding in the data. Someone who can dig through complex findings and create a simple, singular, compelling point of view, rally people around it, and inspire work that actually moves the needle.

The Responsibilities:

Includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Partner with senior client leaders to understand their business challenges, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities, translating those insights into bold brand, marketing, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead market assessments, competitive analyses, and growth opportunity evaluations to identify where clients can win, how they can differentiate, and where to focus their investments.
  • Connect brand and marketing strategies to measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth, market share, patient acquisition and retention, and physician referrals.
  • Lead the development of brand positioning, value propositions, messaging strategies, audience segmentation, and integrated marketing strategies.
  • Uncover powerful human, cultural, and market insights that reveal what audiences care about, what motivates their decisions, and how brands can meaningfully differentiate.
  • Distill complex business challenges and research into a clear, compelling strategic idea - the "one thing" - and personally write inspiring creative briefs that guide breakthrough work.
  • Partner closely with creative teams throughout concept development, helping shape, evaluate, and strengthen ideas.
  • Collaborate with our in-house research and analytics teams to design and apply research, market intelligence, and audience insights to client challenges.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate research, challenge hypotheses, explore strategic possibilities, and develop new tools and approaches that advance BPD's strategy capabilities.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior client executives, bringing informed perspectives, challenging assumptions, and presenting compelling recommendations.
  • Independently lead strategy engagements from discovery and research through strategy development, creative briefing, and executional guidance, collaborating across disciplines.
  • Play a meaningful role in new business pitches and identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships through fresh strategic thinking.
  • Mentor fellow strategists and contribute to the continued evolution of BPD's strategic frameworks, methodologies, and thought leadership.

The Essentials:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including significant experience in brand strategy, marketing strategy, or a related strategic role.
  • Significant healthcare industry experience, with an understanding of healthcare business dynamics, competitive landscapes, and key audiences.
  • Experience in a creative agency, healthcare marketing agency, brand consultancy, or similar environment, with demonstrated ability to connect business strategy and creative strategy.
  • Proven experience personally developing brand positioning, audience insights, creative briefs, and integrated marketing strategies.
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to understand business models, financial drivers, competitive dynamics, and commercial growth opportunities.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research and complex business challenges into compelling strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements, advise senior executives, and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
  • Hands-on AI fluency and curiosity about how emerging technologies can improve research, strategic thinking, and creative development.
  • Intellectual curiosity, creative ambition, collaborative instincts, and the confidence to challenge conventional thinking.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements.
