Tax Specialist

The Tax Specialist will report to the Tax Senior. You will work closely with other team members and the tax return preparers to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of all tax deliverables for the Bracebridge funds including both onshore and offshore master-feeder fund structures.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation related to:
- Computations of partnership taxable income, partnership book and tax allocations, tax estimates, Schedule K-1s and tax returns.
- Forms 926, 8858, 8865, 8886, 5471, and W-8 as well as any other required tax filings.
- ASC 740 Uncertain Tax Position analyses.
- Monthly NRA Withholding Statements.
- The month-end close process and production of reconciliations related to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Analyze and identify book-to-tax differences including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and accretion/amortization of discount/premium.
- Document tax and accounting policies and procedures.
- Assess and evaluate reporting processes and systems to ensure they are efficient and effective. Work with internal technical resources to enhance existing processes and develop new systems as required.
- Additional responsibilities may include researching and implementing operational improvements, ad hoc analysis and special projects.
Qualifications:
- BA degree in accounting or finance. CPA, MST or working towards a CPA or MST preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years financial services experience with exposure to the taxation of financial products and hedge/mutual funds or investment companies preferred.
- Knowledge of fixed income securities, derivatives and complex financial instruments.
- Proficient with software, including advanced MS Excel.
- Knowledge of Total Return accounting system (an SS&C Globe-Op platform) a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with a diverse group of internal and external resources, in a challenging, fast-paced setting.
