The Counter Sales role is responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. This role is considered an entry-level position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Manage the Parts Store front counter, greeting customers upon entry
- Maintain store appearance and restock merchandise in showroom
- Answers basic customer calls and identifies parts with model number and serial
- Order fulfillment of HVAC parts and supplies over the phone and over the counter
- Assist customers with part selections, placing orders, payments, order inquiries, and quotes
- Receives, prepare and stage customer orders
- Loads and unloads shipment of parts, supplies, and equipment
- Responds to customer's inquiries, questions, or complaints regarding products or services; escalation as needed
- Responsible for warranty administration on all parts
- Logs all customer request into provided system
- Delivers parts orders to customer locations or job sites (as needed)
- Shipping, receiving, and product transfers
- Complete training on basic HVAC terminology to be able to demonstrate and discuss with customers
- Develop effective customer service skills and learning products
- Maintain a safe working environment including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Use of forklift as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices
- Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company’s mission and values
- Must be able to work overtime/weekends, as required
- Other duties may be assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and general computer systems
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where frequent interruptions may occur
- Must possess skills to learn quickly and multi-task on different levels
- Must possess great customer service
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Ability to prove US employment eligibility
- Company forklift certification will be required

The physical demands of the position include occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling and reaching; frequent standing, balancing and gripping; and constant walking. Material handling demands include lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 100 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and constant lifting up to 10 lbs., placing the position in the Heavy Physical Demand Classification (PDC). Must be able to talk and hear. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This position works in a typical parts store/warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
