About the Role

As part of our Analytics team and reporting to the Senior Director, Data Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst will analyze complex datasets to provide actionable insights, guide decision-making, collaborate with cross-functional teams and support strategic initiatives. This role requires the ability to query and manipulate data from multiple sources, applying advanced analytical methods and data storytelling. 

You will help business teams to enable them to drive decisions through reports, models, and automation. Additionally, you will identify and execute opportunities to scale reporting  using advanced analytics within the organization by developing self-service reporting and dashboards for business teams.

This role is hybrid with weekly time spent in our New York City office (at least 1 day standard, more as needed).

In this Role You Will

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and engineering, to understand and define business requirements and translate them into data analytics solutions. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of large and complex datasets and create practical data visualization tools. Extract actionable insights and trends to inform strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to user engagement, product usage, and revenue metrics. Identify areas for improvement and optimization and provide recommendations to enhance performance.
  • Perform predictive data analytics, text mining, and quantitative analyses to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems.
  • Constructively challenging business on assumptions and goals; asking questions that effectively push the thinking of business partners
  • Report and Dashboard Creation: Create, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards within our centralized Tableau instance.
  • Drive execution on analytics projects by providing insights on customer trends, performance against KPIs, and recommendations for company growth.

  • Understanding of creating different machine learning and predictive analytics models

On Your Resume

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Economics. Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience (excluding internships) in analytics, with increasing responsibility and a proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business impact. Predictive Analytics experience is a plus.
  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with a “can-do” attitude. Comfortably engage with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Building statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive models to provide key insights
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; Airflow and DBT are a plus
  • Experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorc
  • Visualization: Advanced presentation and visualization skills using Tableau (other BI tools a plus, but Tableau experience is required)
  • Subscription Business Understanding: Familiarity with subscription-based business models
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards by monitoring and reviewing your and colleagues' work quality.

 

Location:

The BrainPOP team operates in a hybrid work environment: Each role has remote flexibility and an in-person component at our New York headquarters or other meeting locations. Based on the requirements of a specific role, we may prioritize hiring within a commutable distance of our New York headquarters or in another region relevant to that role.

We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. We have competitive pay bands for all other countries based on market standards. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. Based on these factors, we expect most of the candidates offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description, as posted. If so, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
