Role: Business Lead – Tech
Location: Mumbai (Hybrid working until further notice)

A little bit about the role:

Own growth, delivery, and profitability for Digital C Technology Services. You will build and convert a high-quality pipeline, lead end-to-end RFPs and proposals, orchestrate delivery across cross-functional teams, manage portfolio financials, and develop a high-performing Content Centre of Excellence (COE). The role blends commercial
leadership, program management, and stakeholder influence to position as a trusted tech partner.

What you'll be doing:

  • Business development and pipeline management
    -    Develop, execute and maintain the Digital C Technology go-to-market plan; build awareness and generate qualified demand.
    -    Build, qualify, and convert a robust opportunity pipeline across web and digital technology services and offerings.
    -    Creating and maintaining up to date, relevant credentials, capabilities and high-impact case studies. This will be our primary "door opener" strategy.
    -    Run targeted outreach to priority accounts with tailored use cases and proactive pitches.
    -    Create and internal communications forum and plan to encompass people development, organic growth opportunities and status updates with the relevant stakeholders
    -    Establish central pipeline tracking, set the KPIs for the business unit and run monthly performance reviews vs OKRs.

  • Stakeholder collaboration, RFPs, and proposals
    -    Act as central owner for inbound opportunities: qualify direct requests, credential- driven leads, and innovation/POC-driven leads; run Go/No-Go.
    -    Lead the end-to-end proposal lifecycle: kick-offs, strategy, timelines, ownership, inputs, quality, and on-time submission.
    -    Author compelling content (executive summaries, solution narratives) and coordinate accurate technical/commercial sections with SMEs.
    -    Ensure custom, client-first proposals; avoid generic responses; uphold tone, quality, and compliance.
    -    Align with Business Leads, Technical Architects, Delivery Managers, and Finance to validate feasibility, commercials, and delivery model.

  • End-to-end project and program delivery
    -    Translate briefs into delivery blueprints: scope, resourcing, milestones, timelines, cost.
    -    Secure POs prior to work; maintain accurate project data and codes in systems of record.
    -    Drive daily/weekly execution rituals; remove blockers; enforce internal QA before client review.
    -    Lead proactive, clear stakeholder communications and status reporting; manage revisions to avoid scope creep.
    -    Anticipate and manage risks; own escalations and resolutions.
    -    Close well: complete handovers, asset delivery, billing, and gather CSAT to drive continuous improvement.

  • Financial management and revenue tracking
    -    Own portfolio financials: forecasting, phasing, tracking, and reconciliation across Project Revenue, Web COE revenue, and Dedicated revenue.
    -    Run weekly bank C stretch, month-end reconciliation with Finance, and monthly business reviews with leadership.
    -    Hit profitability targets; manage margin drivers (3rd-party and direct labor costs); ensure correct time logging and OMG data hygiene.
    -    Enforce financial discipline: zero uncharged scope creep, zero PO exposure, zero overburn, complete and timely billing.
    -    Apply structured projection processes for both dedicated and project revenues.

  • Team leadership and development
    -    Build and scale the Content Centre of Excellence (COE) for content management, migrations, and web COE delivery.
    -    Define roles, KPIs, and operating rhythms; ensure skill-to-project alignment and team realignment as needs evolve.
    -    Upskill teams on Generative AI, reduce vendor dependency, and propagate best practices via playbooks.
    -    Coach PMs and specialists; maintain a lean, flexible team model in partnership with Delivery leadership.

What you'll need:

-    15+ years in digital/technology services, consulting, or agency environments with combined experience in business development, solutioning/proposals, and program delivery.
-    Proven ownership of RFPs/proposals and multi-million pipeline conversion; strong commercial acumen and PCL literacy.
-    Hands-on program/project management in web builds, content
management/migrations, and/or marketing technology; familiarity with AI chatbots and QA automation a plus.
-    Exceptional written communication and storytelling for executive audiences; confident presenter and facilitator.
-    Strong financial rigor: forecasting, margin management, time/cost control, billing governance.
-    Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, technology, or related; MBA, PMP/Prince2/Agile certifications are advantageous.

Skills and competencies:

-    Strategic planning and GTM execution
-    Stakeholder influence and executive communication
-    Solution design and proposal writing
-    Delivery excellence and risk management
-    Data-driven forecasting and decision making
-    Negotiation and commercial stewardship
-    People leadership, coaching, and upskilling (incl. GenAI)

What success looks like:

-    A predictable, growing pipeline with clear win strategies and high conversion.
-    Flawless proposals that are bespoke, commercially sound, and delivered on time.
-    Programs delivered on brief, on time, on budget, with strong CSAT.
-    Portfolio meeting revenue and margin targets with disciplined financial hygiene.
-    A scalable COE that improves speed, quality, and efficiency across markets.
