Job: Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Description:
The Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving reliability improvements across Braskem’s Texas sites, including La Porte, Oyster Creek, and Seadrift. This role involves influencing decision-makers, advocating for reliability best practices, conducting risk assessments, and supporting project teams in delivering reliable equipment to production sites. Reporting administratively to the Equipment Excellence Leader, this position collaborates closely with the site Maintenance Group and operating units.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing technical support on mechanical reliability issues, including troubleshooting equipment problems and advising on maintenance practices.
- Acting as a liaison between site maintenance and subject matter experts to implement best practices in asset design and maintenance.
- Leading the monthly Reliability Improvement Team meetings to address key reliability issues and drive improvements.
- Characterizing risk-based degradation scenarios, failure modes, and equipment failure effects.
- Leading Equipment Strategies, Criticality, and FMEA/RCM studies.
- Supporting the development of regional and global reliability reports.
- Performing data mining, modeling, and analytics on failure history and uptime to identify patterns and improve reliability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience in the petrochemical industry.
- Experience in equipment troubleshooting and facilitating team decision-making.
- Proficiency in reliability analysis methodologies and tools such as Pareto charts and growth analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Fundamental understanding of risk scenario development, assessment, and risk-based work selection.
- Fundamental knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts and FMEA.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
- 10 or more years’ experience in Chemical, Petrochemical or Refining facilities
- Experience with Software tools such as SAP, Reliasoft and Maximo.
- CMRP or CRE Certification
