Description:
The Maintenance Craft Supervisor is an essential part of the Maintenance Planning and Execution (MPE) work process, ensuring that maintenance work is executed in a consistent and effective manner. Within this function, the Maintenance Craft Supervisor must ensure effective execution of both planned and unplanned work, with in-house resources and third-party contractors brought in to supplement the team. The position must ensure effective utilization of our work execution systems, procedures, and tools.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise the Daily execution of Routine Maintenance in a petrochemical production environment.
- Ensure craftsman have the appropriate training and credentials required to perform the expected work, be it Braskem employees or resident contractors.
- Conduct daily safety shift starter meetings with team.
- Set expectations and monitor safety performance.
- Monitor craft resource availability week to week (e.g., number of resources, vacation time, etc.).
- Communicate resource availability and work challenges to affected MPE resources (PMC, Scheduler, Maintenance Manager, and others as needed).
- Respond to Emergency/Priority 1 work.
- Review planned job packages and provide feedback as needed.
- Manage work package flow to ensure effective completion and documentation.
- Assign work daily to craftsmen.
- Work to fully complete the daily maintenance schedule.
- Supervise the execution of maintenance work in the field, planned and unplanned.
- Review completed, ensure execution data is captured, including time, materials used, delays, etc.
- Ensure feedback forms are filled out effectively.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping and ensure time confirmations are entered in SAP for every work order that is completed.
- Ensure adequate housekeeping is achieved after job completion.
- For callouts, ensure that notifications are reviewed, work orders are entered, and execution data (time, materials, cost, etc) are all captured correctly.
- Review the execution of all break-ins, callouts, and overtime to help validate execution choices.
- Participate in the How Did It Go (HDIG) meetings and discuss the execution of scheduled maintenance and issues encountered.
- Approve time sheets for Braskem craft and resident contractor time.
- Approve vacations schedules for craftsmen.
- Issue and manage a callout schedule for the team ensuring effective plant coverage in off hours
- Discuss, review and approve Action Plans (PAs) for Braskem craftsmen according to Braskem’s PA program
- Assess training needs and development plans to enhance competency and skills within his team.
- Responsible for organization and housekeeping of the maintenance building.
Requirements:
- Must have demonstrated dependability and consistency as a leader or supervisor.
- Must be available during off hours to support unexpected plant equipment issues and downtime.
- Must have demonstrated success at driving a positive work culture and environment.
- Must have demonstrated success at driving positive collaboration between various departments.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years applicable industry experience.
- High school diploma required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate activities with other departments.
- Must understand engineering basics and have a strong plant aptitude
- Must have the ability to motivate, develop and drive performance excellence through feedback, coaching and shared learning.
- Proficient computer skills required
- Must be familiar with SAP, Maximo, & Prometheus
- Previous experience supervising hourly personnel is beneficial.
