Senior Site Reliability Engineer

We are searching for a skilled, senior-level Site Reliability Engineer with expertise in AWS, GitLab, and DevOps practices to join our dynamic team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our platform.

Here’s what you’ll do

  • Develop, scale, and maintain our cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as API Gateway, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD tools and pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable deployment cycles, utilizing GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
  • Script and automate core processes using languages like Python, Bash, or JavaScript to improve deployment efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Ensure system reliability and efficiency through regular monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning using tools like NewRelic and AWS CloudWatch
  • Deploy and maintain highly available, scalable, critical applications on cloud-native microservices architecture
  • Participate in on-call rotations to resolve system outages and ensure swift resolution of production issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to engineer software solutions that are resilient and scalable.
  • Drive innovations by continuously assessing and integrating new tools and technologies.

Here’s what you need to be successful

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent additional practical experience
  • 6+ years experience maintaining and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant systems at scale
  • A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.)
  • Proficient with AWS cloud services (API Gateway, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, EKS)
  • Proficient in container orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Karpenter, and ArgoCD..
  • Strong experience in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Bash, JavaScript).
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in CS or other relevant field of study
  • Experience using Kubernetes, EKS, Terraform and Ansible
  • Additional certifications correlating with Site Reliability Engineering
