The Manager Inflight Standards is responsible for driving Inflight safety standards in accordance with federal regulations, Company policy, and other governing agencies. Under the leadership of the Senior Manager Inflight Training & Standards, the manager will research and develop regulatory and non-regulatory, safety, and inflight standards, policies, and procedures. The manager will also provide direct oversight and delegate tasks to the Specialist, Inflight Standards.
Here’s what you’ll do
- Lead the creation, revision and communication of all Inflight policies, procedures, safety protocols, and service standards across the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), Exit Seat Program (ESP), Inflight Service Procedures, and assist the Uniforms Supervisor with Uniform Standards
- Develop and maintain credible interfacing relationships with Company stakeholders, acting as an Inflight liaison on Company projects
- Ensure timely updates of Inflight Standards across manuals based on internal document control procedures, internal resource documents, and communication channels to ensure consistency and accuracy with changes to policies and procedures
- Publish and manage Inflight Safety Newsletter to promote awareness, compliance, and culture
- Maintain regulatory compliance across CFR, TSA, and DOT requirements through proactive collaboration with internal and external agencies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Safety, Security, Training, Regulatory Compliance, Uniforms, and Guest Experience teams to align on process and procedural standards
- Represent the Inflight Department in Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) and participate in weekly Safety Management System (SMS) meetings
- Conduct internal audits of manuals and procedures to identify gaps and recommend improvements
- Mentor and guide the Inflight Standards Specialist, ensuring timely project execution and professional development
- Perform other duties, as assigned

Here’s what you need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of airline experience in inflight service
- Previous flight attendant experience
- Knowledge of CFR’s, working with the FAA, TSA, and DOT
- High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
- Valid Passport with a minimum of six (6) months remaining prior to expiration
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year degree
- 2+ years of policies and procedures experience
Skills/Talents
- Excellent computer skills with functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, make decisions, and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and understand complex documents and rewrite the information in simpler terms
- Ability to work from concepts to create completed works
- Ability to serve as a liaison between other areas of the company
- Ability to work as a Team Member with a strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work with confidential material
- Ability to be cross-utilized and work in Guest Service
- Must attend and successfully pass inflight training and maintain currency
- Ability to travel often
