The Staff Accountant will primarily be responsible for assisting the accounting department in performance of various accounting responsibilities. Areas include stations operations, marketing spend, Department of Transportation reporting and more assigned as needed.
Here's what you'll do
- Assist in the daily activities and month-end close processes
- Key member of the month-end close team – prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and perform flux analysis
- Work closely with the accounting team to drive process improvements
- Assist in the preparation and planning for the annual financial statement audit
- Help develop and implement policies and processes that will scale with growth
- Work collaboratively across teams, providing actionable insights to help drive optimal business decisions
- Complete ad-hoc tasks and project work pertaining to other finance areas as it relates to other business segments
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year degree with a concentration in Accounting
- 0-3 years of overall accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- An energetic and positive attitude with a hands-on mentality
- Data- and results-driven
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward CPA
- Airline experience
- Oracle Fusion experience
- Experience ensuring Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are followed
