The Airport Operations Performance & Execution Director oversees all guest service ground activities and day-to-day operations at Breeze airports, while providing leadership and motivation to their teams. Responsible for ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient operation - including managing business partner & Breeze team members, facilitating coordination across teams in the field, implementing and maintaining safety protocols, handling emergencies, and ensuring regulatory compliance / business continuity. Reports to the Chief Guest Officer.
Here's what you'll do
- Oversee Breeze’s growing network of stations, including over 13 bases and 85 stations in total
- Responsible for safety programs to ensure a safe workplace for Team Members, Guests, business partners, aircraft, ground service equipment, and facilities
- Develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment that results in exemplary Team Member safety and wellbeing
- Take action, as deemed necessary, to resolve any problems or situations that may compromise safety compliance
- Monitor stations closely, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and reviews
- Develop and execute a local strategic plan ensuring industry-leading operational and customer service performance consistent with Breeze core values and objectives, including procedures, operational controls and standards, infrastructure, people operational efficiency, and cost savings
- Ensure coordination across all departments impacting airport operations, including Flight Ops, Inflight Service, and Technical Operations, to achieve operational and company goals
- Develop balanced station metrics and lead the team to ensure performance targets are met
- Ensure team readiness for response to irregular operations and emergency events
- Drive the structured development of RMs, GMs, and AMs by implementing individualized development plans, conducting regular talent reviews, and building a robust succession pipeline. Ensure leaders are equipped with the operational, financial, and people leadership skills required to meet current and future business needs.
- Establish a high-performance culture through consistent coaching, clear expectations, and accountability frameworks. Regularly assess leadership effectiveness, provide actionable feedback, and ensure RMs, GMs, and AMs are driving operational excellence, safety, and customer experience standards across all stations.
- Accountable for all internal and external regulatory matters
- Directing and ensuring regular station audits and reviews of processes is completed
- Project management and oversight of stand-ups for new contracts and cities
- Develop and manage talent on their team, including hiring, coaching, and workforce planning
- Resolve issues for Guests regarding service failures or other complaints
- Make sound decisions with positive results
- Ensure team readiness for response to irregular operations and emergency events
- Ensure that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable Federal regulations and standards
- Ensure business partners are adhering to policies and procedures and reflect the Breeze brand
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity and Excellence
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement
- 7+ years of experience in Customer Service or a related area
- 8+ years of experience in airport operations and customer service
- 5+ years of experience leading large, diverse teams
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
- Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision
- Knowledgeable in Airport Operations, Ground Operations, and regulatory agencies
- Outstanding leadership capabilities, with ability to lead and motivate Team Members at various levels
- Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response and on short notice
- Able to successfully complete Flight Attendant Training
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the USA
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-year degree from an accredited university
- Knowledge of the different airline disciplines and administration, including the interdependencies on Airport Operations
- Knowledge of external agencies and their function as it relates to Airport Operations (i.e. FAA, DOT, TSA)
