People Operations Generalist (Contract)
Are you passionate about solving complex challenges in the fintech space? We’re looking for talented individuals to join our dynamic startup, backed by Sequoia Capital. We’re building the universal payment layer to unify all currencies—fiat and crypto—so businesses and consumers can transact seamlessly. If you're passionate about creating innovative solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to talk to you.
We're hiring a People Operations Generalist!
As the People Operations Generalist at Breeze, you'll help ensure a seamless employee experience while supporting the people operations infrastructure that powers our growth. This is a highly operational and hands-on role focused primarily on managing Singapore People Operations, payroll, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes, while providing light support across our global entities as needed.
You'll partner closely with the People team, Finance team, external vendors, and business leaders to ensure employees are supported throughout their journey at Breeze. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments, enjoys balancing operational excellence with employee support, and can confidently own critical People Operations functions independently.
We're looking for someone who can operate as both a trusted People Ops partner and an exceptional operator — someone comfortable managing payroll, navigating employment regulations, supporting employee relations matters, coordinating with vendors, and continuously improving people processes.
What You'll Do
Singapore People Operations (Primary)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and people-related queries, ensuring timely and accurate support.
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including offer and contract preparation, background screenings, onboarding, confirmation, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, HR systems, and documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer work visa processes, including applications, renewals, transfers, and cancellations.
- Manage employee benefits administration, including insurance, leave entitlements, equity programs, and other employee benefits.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters and workplace policies.
- Partner with external vendors including payroll providers, insurance brokers, equity administration platforms, and office management suppliers.
- Support Singapore office operations, employee engagement initiatives, company events, and workplace experience programs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and People Ops system enhancements.
Singapore Payroll & Compliance (Primary)
- Oversee end-to-end Singapore payroll in partnership with external payroll vendors.
- Ensure accurate CPF contributions, statutory deductions, payroll adjustments, and tax-related requirements.
- Manage tax clearance processes (IR21) for departing employees.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation, including MOM regulations, Employment Act requirements, and CPF obligations.
- Manage leave administration and payroll-related claims, including NS make-up pay, maternity, and paternity claims.
- Partner with Finance and payroll vendors to support payroll funding, reconciliation, and monthly payroll operations.
International People Operations (Secondary)
- Provide support and backup coverage for payroll, offers, contracts, and People Operations processes across other Breeze entities when required.
- Coordinate cross-regional documentation, compliance requirements, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Assist with global People Operations initiatives, reporting, and process improvements as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of People Operations, HR Generalist, or HR Operations experience.
- Hands-on experience managing Singapore payroll and compliance, including CPF, MOM regulations, Employment Act requirements, and IR21 tax clearance processes.
- Strong understanding of Singapore employment law, fair employment practices, and work visa administration.
- Experience working directly with payroll vendors and external People Operations partners.
- Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as OmniHR, HiBob, BambooHR, Rippling, or similar systems.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and exceptional administrative accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Self-starter mentality with a hands-on approach and strong sense of ownership.
- Experience supporting international or multi-entity organizations is a plus.
- Experience with equity administration platforms such as Pulley, Carta, or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience working in technology, fintech, startup, or high-growth environments is a strong plus.
