About the Alpha Engine Department

Our core mission as an organization is to understand the fundamental drivers of markets and turn that understanding into high-quality portfolios and investment advice for our clients.  We do this in three critical ways: by being fundamental, systematic, and diversified. We seek to understand the economy in a fundamental way, uncovering the timeless and universal cause-and-effect linkages that drive global markets. That understanding is implemented systematically and converted into explicit rules that can be rigorously stress-tested. Finally, we create highly diversified portfolios that are not dependent on any one source of return and can survive a wide range of economic environments.

About Your Role

This is a high-stakes role at the epicenter of one of the world’s largest hedge funds. You will serve as the operational nervous system for a C-Suite executive within the Alpha Engine—the division overseeing our flagship Pure Alpha fund.

This is a mission-critical position focused on high-fidelity execution, triage, and extreme reliability. You are responsible for ensuring the "trains run on schedule" in an environment where the Executive can be a high-demand bottleneck. You will partner directly with leadership to orchestrate priorities, navigating ambiguous problems while executing a clear strategic roadmap.

Core Responsibilities

  • Central Workflow Command: Become the central point person for all workflows interacting with the Executive. You are the first line of defense—making fast, objective decisions on what requires immediate attention and what you can resolve independently.
  • Strategic Triage & Synthesis: Act as the primary filter for all escalations. You must be a fast learner able to connect the dots, remain level-headed while determining what requires the Executive's immediate focus, and generate a clear synthesis of complex issues for the broader team.
  • Meticulous Calendar & Priority Management: Own the Executive’s time with precision. You must translate ambiguous or limited direction into an excellently prioritized schedule that reflects the firm’s most important goals and urgent needs.
  • Stakeholder Orchestration: Manage high-volume outreach from senior leaders across the firm. When the Executive is unreachable, you are the bridge—keeping stakeholders aligned, managing expectations, ensuring follow-ups are addressed promptly, and escalating when needed.
  • Project Management: Oversee critical internal and external workstreams. You ensure every project is handled with the end-to-end precision required for C-Suite execution.
  • Always-On Operational Pulse: Serve as the primary point of contact for an office that is serving clients on a global scale, 24/7, 365. You will ensure 360-degree coverage of business priorities and maintain a tight operational grip even when clarity is limited. You will manage a coordinator who will partner with you on these responsibilities.

Desired Profile - The Unshakeable Operator

  • High Agency & Behind-the-Scenes Impact: You are comfortable supporting a high-powered executive from behind the scenes. You derive satisfaction from a perfectly executed day and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get whatever is needed done for the benefit of the team.
  • Exceptional Judgment & Discretion: You possess the emotional intelligence and instinct to manage highly sensitive information with absolute discretion. You know exactly when to "interrupt" the Executive versus when to pull in other senior leaders to solve a problem.
  • Extreme Perseverance: You have the grit to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. You are a fixer who remains calm and collected when faced with rapidly evolving situations and persistent ambiguity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in high-stakes business operations, administrative orchestration, and complex execution, with a track record of managing competing priorities with minimal errors. We are open to a variety of backgrounds.
  • Commitment: Willingness to be in-office 4 days/week and stay connected during evenings or weekends as workflows require.

Physical Requirements

The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week at our New York City campus.

Wage Range

The wage range for this role is $180,000- $280,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70 - 80% of this wage range.
