Sr. Director, Business Development

Summary/Primary Role:

The ideal candidate will work primarily in client facing business development activities to increase market reach and opportunity pipeline. They will be a clean energy business development resource that has a clear track record of success in developing strong client relationships and originating, managing, and closing a pipeline of activity. This role will be responsible for all phases of client development including prospecting, qualifying, proposing, negotiating, and closing sales opportunities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed individual and company sales plan targets for revenue in key applications in Lighting, Solar, EV Charging, Storage, and Geothermal activity.
  • Identify and create opportunities for Brightcore by leveraging a network of existing clients and relationships in the market.
  • Elevate client relationships and gain enterprise-wide engagement with new key accounts with the direct support of Brightcore’s President & Partnerships team.
  • Identify and leverage channel partners to extend reach and breadth of pipeline opportunities.
  • Work with internal product support and analysts to tailor proposals to exceed client expectations for financial, operational, and sustainability objectives on projects.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of work experience in client facing roles in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Driven focus on meeting personal business growth objectives.
  • Understanding of key building systems and renewable energy space.
  • Personal & professional interest in furthering a clean energy future.
  • A successful approach to client relationship management.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to master complex selling environment to address multiple influences and identify key client business requirements.
  • Experience and understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability solutions in the commercial, institutional, or industrial markets.
  • Effective client relationship development skills that enable a clear path to key decision makers.
  • Local knowledge that enhances an intentional approach to targeted vertical markets.
  • Strong teamwork skills that enable multiple disciplines across Brightcore to work seamlessly to achieve the desired client outcome.
  • Relentless passion to enable clients to achieve their energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position has supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with overtime required as scheduled. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to compliment the base salary. The base annual salary range for this position is $150,000-180,000 and is eligible to participate in Brightcore’s quarterly commission structure.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Travel Required up to 25% within the Northeast.

Office/Remote Work Guidelines:

Recognizing the success of remote work, Brightcore operates in a hybrid model. Eligible employees will have the option to work remotely for two (2) days per week at their discretion, with final approval by their direct supervisor. This policy is subject to change at Brightcore's discretion.
