API Integration Specialist

Ireland

The Opportunity

As an API Integration Specialist based in Ireland, you will play a crucial role in our Professional Services team, serving as the bridge between Brightflag’s customers and our development team. You will be responsible for engaging with customers to understand their integration requirements (primarily with Accounts Payable and related systems), designing robust and scalable solutions, and guiding integrations through configuration, testing, and deployment.

This role combines customer-facing engagement, solution design, and technical problem-solving. You will collaborate closely with customers to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, then work with our engineers to deliver integrations that bring measurable value. To succeed, you’ll need both strong technical fluency and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders. You will also have opportunities to improve our integration processes, tools, and documentation — driving greater automation, standardization, and efficiency across the team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Engage directly with customers to understand integration requirements, workflows, and data needs.
  • Design and document API integration solutions to connect Brightflag with diverse external systems (Accounts Payable, Document Management, Matter Management, etc.).
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications, including data mappings, API endpoint definitions, and authentication requirements.
  • Partner with developers to ensure integrations are built/configured in line with customer requirements and best practices.
  • Support customer testing by preparing test data, creating test plans, and validating integrations for accuracy, performance, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot issues and act as the first line of problem-solving, escalating to engineering when needed.
  • Provide clear guidance to customers and internal teams on integration processes, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to our integration methodology, tooling, and documentation, with a focus on automation and simplification.
  • Develop light scripts or data transformations when required to support integration scenarios (preferred but not primary focus).

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analysis, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing/documenting API integrations in a customer-facing context.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and web service standards; familiarity with SOAP and common authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience working with Accounts Payable systems (e.g., Oracle, Netsuite, Coupa, SAP).
  • Familiarity with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apache Camel) and API tools (Postman, SoapUI, Swagger).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into clear business terms for customers and vice versa.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement, with demonstrated ability to streamline processes, automate tasks, or improve deliverables.

The following are a bonus!

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript an advantage

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
