Our Finance Team play a core role in collaborating with all business units to contribute to our mission, and we are now searching for an Interim Financial Controller to join the team for an 8-month maternity cover as we head into our next exciting chapter of growth. 

The Role: 

As our Interim Financial Controller, you will lead our dedicated and high-performing Finance Team of three, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations whilst delivering timely, high-quality financial insights. You will collaborate closely with our Chief Financial Officer and Executive Team to shape impactful business decisions – so this is your chance to really make your mark and contribute to the future success of Bright Network.

Responsibilities:  

  • Deliver impactful reporting, reviewing monthly management accounts and preparing key metrics with insightful commentary to guide our Executive Team’s strategic decision-making 
  • Lead our Year End, taking charge of our FY25 statutory accounts process, collaborating with external accountants, our auditor and R&D consultants
  • Empower your team through mentoring and supporting our FP&A Analyst and Finance Graduate, helping them to excel in delivering high-quality work 
  • Support value-add projects and contribute to initiatives such as forecasting and other strategic finance projects as they arise 
  • Review payroll and AP/AR processes to ensure they are seamless and met with precision – leading to a very happy team! 

Does this sound like you? 

  • You have an ACA/ICAS/ACCA/CIMA formal accountancy qualification 
  • You have experience in financial reporting and working capital within a small business 
  • You have proven experience leading small finance teams whilst taking a hands-on approach and rolling up your sleeves when needed 
  • You have sharp attention to detail, balancing materiality and impact to deliver meaningful insights whilst prioritising and managing competing deadlines across diverse projects 
  • You have strong communication skills and are able to build rapport and demystify financial data for non-financial colleagues

Key Details: 

  • Location: London, Liverpool Street with hybrid-working  
  • Salary: £65,000 – 75,000 per annum 
  • Start Date: March 2025

  • Intro call with our People Team 
  • Competency interview with our Head of Finance 
  • Task & final round interview with the wider team
