Position Overview
The Academic Operations Director leads the strategy, systems, and performance of academic operations across the network. The role builds and manages processes that ensure quality, equity, and consistency while supervising team members and using data and feedback to improve outcomes. As a member of the Schools Team, this leader oversees the operational systems—such as timelines, materials, and coordination—that enable strong teaching and learning across campuses. The position collaborates closely with superintendents, operations leaders, student services, and curriculum teams to translate academic priorities into practical systems for schools. The director also ensures compliance with policies and testing requirements while maintaining reliable systems for scheduling, materials delivery, assessments, and educational technology.

Core Competencies & Responsibilities

  • Lead academic operations planning and execution across campuses, serving as the primary project manager for school-facing academic operational workstreams and ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery against network timelines
  • Partner with Superintendents, Operations, and Student Services to build annual campus daily schedules that protect instructional minutes, meet compliance requirements, and reflect service delivery needs (e.g., ICT/related services, interventions, MLL), with clear templates and quality checks
  • Own centralized curriculum printing and distribution, including print specifications, production timelines, delivery schedules, and issue resolution so that teachers have what they need—when they need it
  • Manage curriculum inventory and logistics in partnership with Network Directors of Operations and contractors: ordering, receiving, storage guidance, campus-level counts, replenishment cycles, and end-of-year closeout processes
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts tied to curriculum materials, assessment tools, and academic operations services—tracking renewals, service levels, deliverables, and troubleshooting escalations with finance/operations support as needed
  • Lead computer-based testing readiness and execution support across curriculum-linked technology platforms, ensuring device readiness, secure testing configurations, rostering accuracy, proctoring logistics coordination, and smooth day-of operations with campuses
  • Coordinate instructional technology and blended learning platform setup, including rostering, access, course setup, training artifacts, and ongoing operational routines that keep platforms reliable for teachers and students
  • Build scalable tools, playbooks, and reporting routines (trackers, SOPs, calendars, checklists, and dashboards) that reduce school burden, improve compliance, and strengthen consistency of execution across the network
  • Other duties as assigned

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
