This position will be key to effectively deliver on some of our existing programmes and ensure we build the capacity to design and deliver future programmes.

Our work spans five areas namely Child Protection, Education, Skilling and Livelihoods, Mental Health and Conservation

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a new member to help us deepen our engagement with the government in India across our work in education, skilling and livelihoods. This includes several new initiatives to institutionalise employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.

Towards this objective, you will work closely with the assigned lead to:

1.      Support government partnerships

·       At central government level, you will work with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) and others as relevant to support the Skills Outcomes Fund. This includes working with the lead to shape content, liaison for meetings, take minutes, action next steps.

·       To enable operationalisation of the fund, you will support the lead in drafting MoUs, contracts and other assigned administrative and data management tasks.

·       Track MSDE, MoLE and other government announcements including budget, policy, TA projects, tech initiatives, programs, and feed back to the lead

·       Work with identified partners to support program design as needed

·       Work collaboratively with external stakeholders including funders and other identified consortium partners towards the larger programme management objectives. This includes data management, reporting, actioning learnings, amongst others

·       Support identified opportunities with state governments to create customised state level offerings, including liaison for meetings, etc. as guided by the lead.

2.      Support communications and knowledge management

 ·       Track latest research and global developments in the field of skilling and livelihoods with a systems lens

·       Support content creation as guided by the lead

·       Enable dissemination plans of identified knowledge products by providing required administrative support

·       Liaison with external agencies for showcasing BAT initiatives, both at national and global platforms

Job Related Knowledge and Skills:

We think you will be a successful candidate if you have:

  • Understanding and/or experience of working with government stakeholders towards policy and programme objectives
  • Work experience in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a consistent ability to deliver against project plans on time
  • Experience and understanding of development issues in India is desirable, especially on skills and livelihoods
  • Experience of conducting desk research, including data analysis
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills and confident with data collection, analysis and data management
  • An excellent track record of time management, systems organisation, and follow-up
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills (listening/empathy)
  • Agility and flexibility towards evolving responsibilities and project pivots / changes
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work with global / cross cutting teams
  • The ability to build and manage strong working relationships with people across teams
